Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi stated at a press conference on Thursday that the Dasu terror attack that killed 9 Chinese citizens in Pakistan on July 14 was planned in Afghanistan, implemented by the special police branch of the Pakistani Taliban (TTP). Some suspects were arrested in Pakistan and the rest in Afghanistan. Qureshi said the Investigation and Analysis Department of the Indian Intelligence Agency (RAW) and the Afghan intelligence agency National Security Agency (NDS) were behind the terror attacks.
RAW is an external intelligence agency directly under the Cabinet Secretariat of India. It has the strongest combat power and has guided many Indian operations in the surrounding areas. India has publicly opposed the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The purpose of the July 14 terror attack is widely suspected to be the destruction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. However, India and Pakistan are rivals, and Pakistan’s accusations against India require conclusive evidence. China needs to discern and judge carefully.
NDS is the largest intelligence agency in Afghanistan. The Afghan government maintains good relations with China and India. Recently, the Afghan government and the Afghan Taliban have requested China’s support, but India has not yet established public diplomatic relations with the Afghan Taliban. It remains to be investigated why the NDS participated in the terrorist attacks against the Chinese and whether it actually did so. In any case, Pakistan’s terrorist attack against the Chinese was an action against China. Supporting such an offensive is also China’s enemy. Once there is conclusive evidence, China will surely make the perpetrators and the forces behind them pay a heavy price.
Pakistan stated that the three identified planners had fled to Afghanistan, and Pakistan has requested that Afghanistan surrender three suspects through a mutual legal assistance request. Afghanistan is currently in a state of chaos, but both the Afghan government and the Afghan Taliban want to maintain relations with China. China should put more pressure on Afghanistan. No matter which side the three suspects fall on, Afghanistan should hand them over immediately.

This oath must be verified by this incident and set a steadfast example for the chaotic surrounding area. There are Chinese in Pakistan and in post-war Afghanistan. China must severely crack down on the perpetrators and organizers of the July 14 terror attack and severely punish the forces behind the scenes as a warning.
Punishing the participants in the July 14 terrorist attacks is a very appropriate opportunity to warn other forces and show China’s solemn stand.
