Why Kendall Jenner Broke Down in Tears Over the Pressures of Modeling?
Even though Kendall Jenner has lived most of her life in front of the camera—for Keeping Up With The Kardashians and then The Kardashians—posing for pictures hasn’t become any easier.
Kendall Jenner, the sister of beauty entrepreneur Kylie Jenner, is the second youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner family. Like Kylie, Kendall has made a name for herself as a model apart from the family’s reality TV business.
Kendall Jenner is not your average model either; she belongs to a rarefied class of models known for her high fashion appearances on glossy magazines like Vogue and W and her runway work for the most prestigious designers.
Actually, because she is the August cover model for French Vogue, her most recent Instagram post was made in collaboration with the magazine.
Kendall talked about protecting her mental health and “energy” in an Instagram remark that Vogue France used to accompany the post, which was published on July 23.
“Social media involves much more than just posting content for public consumption.
It also entails letting your energy shine. I take enormous precautions to safeguard my mental well-being and vitality.”
As Nicole Richie attests, reality television can only take a person so far in terms of recognition and money. However, Kendall Jenner is an objectively successful high fashion model, having been named the highest-paid model for a number of years running, starting in 2017.
Kendall recently said that her job as a model has been emotionally taxing, despite the fact that she has topped the modeling rankings for years and frequently appeared on the covers of the largest fashion magazines worldwide.
Kendall Talks About “Dark Nights,” “Lonely Cities,” and Weeping All Night Long
Being a part of the Kar-Jenner family, Kendall and her sisters are sometimes called privileged, and it could be seen that way if they keep complaining about being supermodels.
August 1st, OG Kendall was highlighted by social media celebrity and YouTuber Emma Chamberlain on her weekly show, Anything Goes.
Kendall noted that their bond allowed her to feel comfortable speaking honestly, even before the topic of modeling arose. She made references to her inability to trust others, her anxiety, and her lack of control over her life.
“I believe this current friendship is crucial for me because I’ve had experiences in my life where I felt unsafe. It could be that I was naive, young, or didn’t have much control over certain situations.”
Kendall didn’t go into detail about the situations she brought up, but the Kardashian-Jenner family is known for being image-focused, so she has always felt pressure to appear a specific way.
When Emma talked about how she became “internet famous” at 16, she said that even now, she was still getting used to it and that her notoriety was not on “the scale that [Kendall has] experienced,” meaning that she would not be a “societal punching bag.”
Emma enquired further about Kendall’s modeling career, pointing out that modeling is often “romanticized” and seen as a “dream job,” and she requested Jenner to “shed light on the reality of it.”
Kendall stated that she had had the “toughest journey,” but that she had been “extremely fortunate.” It was clear that she was very careful with her words and worried that they might be misconstrued.
Kendall brought up the subject of being “alone” or “lonely” at an early age in the interview, and then brought it up again while discussing her career as a model:
“It feels really solitary. Since I haven’t been home in three months and have spent much of that time alone, I’ve had some really dark evenings where I’ve been in kind of weird cities and have just sobbed myself to sleep.
“Or I’m working on a job and something very bizarre happened at home that I wish I could have been there for, but I’m told I can’t be. There have been a lot of instances where I’ve wondered what’s going on and if it’s worth it all.
“Then, you know, you know. When I reflect on my experience thus far with it. Having the ability to travel the world the way I have is truly amazing; I doubt I could have done it otherwise. I’m really appreciative of it. I’m incredibly appreciative of my experience.”
The Kardashian family is undoubtedly close, despite the fact that much has been said about them—Kendall even acknowledged how difficult it is to miss important family gatherings.
After discussing social media and its effects on them, Emma questioned Kendall about how she managed to resist “obsessing.” Kendall responded,
Man, I have no idea. I’m not flawless. And I am constantly a victim of it.
A “good relationship” with oneself is ultimately necessary for modeling, according to Kendall, in an industry that may be “tough, blunt, or brutal.”
