As per the reports officially reported by French outlet Le Tarn Libre, two branches of a large tree fell on the festival grounds, killing Knight and injuring four others.

According to both a GoFundMe page started by his partner’s sister and the French newspaper Le Tarn Libre, “British comedian and “Dog Listener” Tony Knight has died in an accident at 54.”
Joanne Allen, sister of Knight’s longtime partner Hayley Wright wrote on Knight’s GoFundMe page, “He was fit, healthy, happy and had everything going for him. He was charismatic, funny, passionate and so very loved by Hayley, his family, and his friends all over the world.”
He had worked as a comedian in the industry but also turned his second career as a passion for dogs as a dog trainer that’s why he is renowned as ‘Dog Listener.’
Allen wrote, “He helped people all over the world with his classes both in person, online, on radio and television, ebooks, and more. He was very well respected and admired. His method worked and he loved helping people with their dogs.”

At ventured in Australia and overseas, Knight had performed his comedy show Mad Dogs and an Englishman. His next move was to perform numerous shows throughout the different corners of the UK.
Allen wrote, “We are beyond devastated that his life was taken by a freak accident,” Allen added, “an accident that we are all still trying to comprehend.” His partner Hayley has also given him a tribute a few days after his death on Instagram.
She wrote, “He was an exceptionally talented man, with so many strings to his bow. There really was nothing he couldn’t do. He was a fantastic friend to so many, an amazing dog Dad….but most of all he was my world & it will never be the same without him.”
The fundraiser mentioned that Knight “was only 54 and enjoying life to the fullest.” He had everything in his favor—content, healthy, and fit. He was deeply loved by [his partner] Hayley, his family, and friends all over the world. Knight was also charismatic, funny, and enthusiastic. He had recently spent a few days in France on his annual vacation.

As of July 5, the majority of individuals donated $8,501 for the Knight’s funeral, medical bills, and the costs of figuring out his estate. Hayley had been in a relationship with Knight for 15 years. Her sister, Jo, the author, said, “he loved comedy and had performed his show Mad Dogs and an Englishman at all sorts of venues both in Australia and overseas.”
