Kevin Bacon in Disguise: His act of Pretending to Be Normal Was a Total Bust

As you all know Kevin Bacon is no longer a stranger to the spotlight. After decades of working in the Hollywood entertainment industry, his name resonates worldwide as he captivates the attention of the media all the time.

However, he wanted to spend a peaceful life outside the box of the limelight. In order to fulfill his wish to live like a normal person, he used prosthetics and accessories to form a disguise but the aftermath was out of expectations. He did not like what happened next.

In a recent interview, he explained, “I’m not complaining, but I have a face that’s pretty recognizable. Putting my hat and glasses on is only going to work to a certain extent.”

He has been in the business for like 4 decades and this week, his two movies graced the screen which are “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” and “MaXXXine.” During an interview, he discussed his lifestyle as a highly recognizable star and how as well as why he tried to like this now.

He justifies what happened to him to the media outlets, “I went to a special effects makeup artist, had consultations, and asked him to make me a prosthetic disguise.”

Because of the makeup maven’s help, he transformed his nose and teeth through botox treatments. Then he went out to The Grove, a popular outdoor shopping center in Los Angeles after adding accessories.

He said, “Nobody recognized me. People were kind of pushing past me, and not being nice. Nobody said, ‘I love you.’ I had to wait in line to, I don’t know, buy a f—ing coffee or whatever. I was like, ‘This sucks. I want to go back to being famous.”

At first, he was thrilled but after some time he faded and did not feel comfortable anymore because of his new appearance.

Even as a child, “fame was always something that he wanted” he explained, “My father [Edmund Bacon, an urban planner] was famous in Philadelphia, which, in some ways, is a small pond. But, for me, it was a big pond. I saw him get recognized by people when he would walk down the street, and seeing that was definitely a big driving force in my life.”

For Bacon, fame isn’t the sole focus. He shared with Vanity Fair that his commitment to the craft of acting remains steadfast, even more than fifty years after his feature film debut in “Animal House” in 1978.

He said, “Yes, I am still hungry, and I still feel like the best work is in front of me. I don’t think it’s a competition. It’s a competition with myself. I probably did this in the past, but I’m not looking at this actor going, ‘I wish I was him’ or ‘I wish I had what he had.’

He added, “When I reach out to people, it’s not because I’m trying to get a gig. It’s because I feel like being appreciated for what you do as an artist from somebody else is a nice feeling. If there’s somebody that I admire that comes up and says, ‘Hey, I really like that’ or ‘You did a good job,’ it feels good.”

Furthermore, he criticized the film industry, asserting that much of it is driven by “hierarchical nonsense,” which fosters a pervasive sense among employees that they must compete with one another.

Bacon said, “So, wherever I can feel like I’m a member of a community that is supporting each other in creating these things that I think are super important, I want to do that.”
