Locke And Key Season 4 Expected Netflix Release Date, Cast & Story
As of today, the third season of Locke & Key is available on Netflix, and already some viewers are hoping for a fourth. Is there any chance of a season four being produced by Netflix? I was wondering if there was an expected premiere date for Season 4 of Locke & Key. In that case, when may it come out, and who would be in it? Locke and Key devotees everywhere are probably scratching their heads right now over these very same questions.
Please bear with me while I get all of the boring technical details out of the way, as the Google algorithm requires us to use certain keywords multiple times.
Here’s the Official Summary of Locke & Key, Courtesy of Netflix:
“The three Locke children and their mother relocate to their childhood home, Keyhouse, after the unsolved murder of their father. There, they find a trove of mystical keys that may have had some role in the crime.
A mystery demon awakens as the Locke children investigate the keys and their many abilities, and it will do anything to get its hands on the Locke children’s keys. Carlton Cuse (Lost) and Meredith Averill (The Haunting of Hill House) team up to create Locke & Key, a coming-of-age mystery about love, loss, and the unbreakable links that define family.
For its second season, Netflix’s Locke and Key, based on the popular comic book series created by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez for IDW Entertainment, will return on October 22.”
Is Season 4 of Locke & Key Actually Happening?
The production of Locke and Key Season 3 wrapped up quite some time ago, which is absolutely bonkers. Seasons 2 and 3 were filmed essentially simultaneously. However, there seems to be a lack of information on Locke & Key Season 4.
So, even though We Got This Covered reported that Season 4 of Locke & Key was in production, Netflix has decided to pull the plug after only three seasons.

Apparently, Netflix has ordered four full seasons of We Got This Covered, according to We Got This Covered. WGTC’s track record with scoops like this isn’t perfect, and they were dead wrong this time.
Despite the creators’ and writers’ hopes for a fourth season, it was announced not long after Season 3 was greenlit that it would be the last. This makes me sad because the sitcom had a lot of fans, including me.
The show’s cancellation is disappointing, but I can see why they made that decision; three seasons isn’t awful for a Netflix series. In addition, they were able to conclude the series with a strong third season.
When Might We Get Season 4 of Lock and Key?
Consequently, given that Season 4 of Locke & Key will not be produced, there is currently no set air date for the next season. There’s no need for me to continue with the article any further than this point.
That being said, I do want it on the record that I think Netflix should have renewed the show for a second season. The conclusion of Locke & Key Season 3 is a major factor in my belief. An unresolved mystery and (spoilers) the promise of a final key left the audience on edge.

If the network had given the go-ahead, season four might have been recorded rapidly and made available on the streaming service in 2023 or early 2024.
Where Would the Stars Come From for Season 4?
Season 4 would have been the natural moment to end the program, and if it had been given the go light, we would have seen the return of most of the major characters (with a fourth season, I mean).
Because I’m discussing a made-up season of a show that no longer exists, I find myself in an unusual position. Yet, let’s discuss who might have been cast in Locke & Key Season 4.
It’s quite challenging to foretell anything like that. If the Locke children had been renewed for Season 4, I believe they all would have returned. I also believe that if given the chance, their mother would have stayed for a fourth season.
Thus, Darby Stanchfield, Connor Jessup, Emilia Jones, and Jackson Robert Scott might have appeared in the show’s potential fourth season on Netflix.
As soon as we hear anything new about Locke & Key Season 4, we’ll be sure to pass along the information. If there is enough interest and someone launches a petition to “renew Locke And Key” on Change.org, the show could be revived. I was hinting at you.
