‘Yellowjackets’: Jason Ritter to Join Wife Melanie Lynskey in Season 2

Melanie Lynskey will be able to spend more time with her husband, Jason Ritter, as it has been confirmed that he will join her on the second season of the Showtime popular series Yellowjackets.

According to Variety, Ritter will appear in one episode of the suspense series, however, no character specifics have been revealed.

Since 2020, Lynskey and Ritter have been married, and they recently collaborated on the Hulu true-crime series Candy. It is reasonable to assume he will emerge in the modern-day timeline alongside his wife, given the improbability of the youngsters encountering him and his wife in the winter wilderness so early in their two-year voyage.

Other new cast members include Simone Kessell as adult Lottie — who, according to the Season 1 finale, maybe running a modern-day cult and toying with the survivors — and Lauren Ambrose as adult Van, revealing her as another survivor of the high school soccer team’s two-year ordeal in the wilderness. Elijah Wood has also been announced as a season-long guest star.

In contemporary characters, the series also features Juliette Lewis, Christina Ricci, and Tawny Cypress. Completing the ensemble cast are Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Steven Krueger, Warren Kole, and Kevin Alves.

Season 1 focused on the early days after the crash during the summer, as well as the undesired and forced reunion of some of the survivors in the present day. Season 2 is set in the first winter after the crash, which is sure to face the stranded team with more obstacles.

The new season will premiere early via streaming and on-demand for Showtime subscribers on Friday, March 24; the official premiere will air on Sunday, March 26.
