Who is Chip Caray?
Chip Caray is an American TV host who works for Bally Sports Midwest and covers baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals. After being the TV play-by-play voice for the Atlanta Braves from 2005 to 2022, he joined the Cardinals’ radio and TV teams.
In addition to his work with the Braves, Caray is known for his time as a reporter for the Fox Saturday Game of the Week and as the television play-by-play announcer for the Chicago Cubs from 1998 to 2004. He is the son of the late broadcaster Skip Caray and the grandson of the famous announcer Harry Caray.
Caray went to high school in Chesterfield, Missouri, at Parkway West High School. In 1987, he got a degree in writing from the University of Georgia.
Caray had worked for local TV stations in Panama City, Florida, and Greensboro, North Carolina before he started working for Fox. He was the NBA’s Orlando Magic’s play-by-play voice from 1989 to 1998.
From 1993 to 1995, Caray also worked as a radio announcer for the Seattle Mariners of the American League. During this time, the St. Louis Cardinals gave him a two-game tryout with the hope that he would join the team after the 1994 season.
Caray, though, decided to stay with the Mariners instead. He was also a part of the team that did the first show of Major League Baseball on Fox in 1996.

Caray has taken a job with the St. Louis Cardinals radio team. His new job is similar to the one he had before. It looks like his time as a reporter for the Braves is over. Twenty years is a long time to spend with one team.
It looks like both Caray and the Braves needed a change in their circumstances. Chip Caray has been the voice of the Atlanta Braves for 20 years. During that time, fans tuned in to hear his famous voice call a lot of games. The end of that time has come, which is too bad.

Chip Caray, whose grandfather Harry Caray and father Skip Caray were both well-known broadcasters, has chosen to leave his job with the Atlanta Braves and become the lead play-by-play announcer for the St. Louis Cardinals.
Caray couldn’t pass up the chance to go back home to St. Louis and follow in the path of his grandfather. Fans of the Braves will miss Caray, but the team still has a great group of broadcasters, including Brandon Gaudin, Jeff Francouer, and Tom Glavine, among others.
In a way, Gaudin will take over Caray’s job, and the team’s reporting team will still be full of very talented people.
