What All 10 Teams Need to Do to Qualify for IPL 2023 Playoffs

As the Indian Premier League 2023 season comes to a close, the race to make the playoffs is heating up. Right now, all ten teams are playing, but none of them has made it to the playoffs.

At the MA Chidambaram Stadium, the 55th match of the IPL 2023 will be played between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings. It’s a must-win game for DC, so it will be a very important match. Delhi will be out of the tournament if they lose today.

Along with DC, many teams will also play games that they have to win. Here is what each of the 10 teams needs to do to get into the playoffs.

Gujarat Titans

GT is in first place on the IPL 2023 points table right now, with 16 points from 11 games. They are almost good enough to make the playoffs. This is the second time in a row that GT will make the cut.

If they can win one of their last three games, they will definitely make the playoffs. Even if they lose all three, they can still qualify as long as their net run rate is not too low.

Chennai Super Kings

CSK is in second place on the table, and they have 13 points from 11 games so far. For them to qualify for the playoffs, they need to win two of their next three games. But even if they only win one game, they will still have a chance. It will depend on how the other teams do.

Mumbai Indians

On May 9, MI beat Royal Challengers Bangalore and moved up to the No. 3 spot. Mumbai needs to win their next three games in order to make the playoffs. Just like Chennai, if they win two of their last three games, they will still count on how other teams do.

Lucknow Super Giants

Lucknow lost a lot of ground when their captain, KL Rahul, was kicked out of the competition. They have 11 points from 11 games, and they need to win all three of their remaining games to make the playoffs. If the team doesn’t do that well, it will rest on how the other team does.

Rajasthan Royal

RR is 5th in the IPL 2023 points table, so they need to win all three games to stay in the league. If they lose just one game, they will be out of the running for the playoffs.

Kolkata Knight Riders

KKR also has 10 points after 11 games, but they need to win all three of their remaining games to make the playoffs. If they don’t do that, they will be kicked out of the game.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

With 10 points from 11 games, Bangalore is in seventh place on the points table. To get into the playoffs, they need to win their last three games and hope that other teams don’t do well enough and don’t get 16 points.

Punjab Kings

PBKS can still get 16 points if they win their last three matches, but they need to win by a big score to improve their net run rate.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad still has four games to play, and if they win all of them, they will make the playoffs.

Delhi Capitals

Delhi is currently at the bottom of the IPL 2023 points table, but they still have a chance to make it to the playoffs. They have to win their last four games.
