The famous and renowned author of the “Dragon Ball” series, Akira Toriyama, died on March 1, 2024. He had been alive for 68 years.
He passed away from an acute subdural hematoma, which means my brain bled. A small funeral was held by his family to honor him and say goodbye in secret.
Family’s Request For Privacy
Toriyama’s family has asked for respect after this sad loss. They are not taking gifts, visits, presents, or requests for interviews.
But Toriyama’s own design and production company, Bird Company, has said that there will be an event in the future to honor his life and work.

The Legacy Of Akira Toriyama
In 1980, Toriyama’s comic series “Dr. Slump” made a big splash. This show was a hit, and it was turned into two TV cartoons and several movies.
He became famous all over the world, though, thanks to “Dragon Ball,” which ran from 1984 to 1995.
Many manga and anime sequels, spin-offs, and movies have been made based on this series. Goku, the hero of the story, is now a famous figure all over the world.
Contributions Aside From Manga
It wasn’t just anime that Toriyama could make amazing things. Along with making characters for hit video games like Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger, and Blue Dragon, he also left his mark.

Toriyama was very active with the most recent “Dragon Ball” anime series, “Dragon Ball Daima,” until he died.
He helped with the story and character concepts for the new anime. His book “Sand Land” was also made into an anime movie that came out in Japan in August 2022.
A cartoon show based on “Sand Land” will start airing around the world on March 20, 2024. On April 26, 2024, a game will be released.
