Super Mario Movie Ending: The Super Mario Bros. Movie has finally here, and its conclusion wraps up its core plot while teasing the possibility of more. The Super Mario Bros. Movie, directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic from a script by Matthew Fogel, is the second film based on the popular Nintendo IP, following the unsuccessful 1993 film.
The animated film features the return of renowned Nintendo characters, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, and Jack Black as the adversary Bowser.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie concludes with Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Donkey Kong, and their separate kingdoms facing the villainous Bowser, who is out to capture the Super Star and conquer the (non-human) globe. On the streets of Brooklyn, Mario and Luigi are hurled backwards and are able to grab the Super Star before Bowser does, granting them invulnerability.
Along with the rest of their pals, they defeat Bowser, and Princess Peach forces him to consume the blue mushroom, therefore rendering him harmless. The accomplishments of Mario and Luigi delight their parents, and the brothers return to the Mushroom Kingdom.
Super Mario Movie Ending Explained
The audience is then treated to two more sequences during the film’s end credits. Jack Black’s still-miniaturized Bowser sings yet another power song about his overwhelming love for Anya Taylor-Peach. Joy’s The second sends audiences back to New York City’s underground tunnels to witness the hatching of a green-and-white-spotted dinosaur egg from the Mushroom Kingdom.
Yoshi, one of Nintendo’s most recognized characters, will be introduced in the next scene, as Super Mario Bros. veterans will immediately recognize.
Yoshi, a dinosaur-like creature, is one of Mario’s most known video game companions and occasional mount. The post-credits scene is not the only instance in which The Super Mario Bros.
The movie foreshadows Yoshi’s future debut. Earlier in the film, Mario and Peach briefly encounter a number of Yoshi-like dinosaurs while traversing the Mushroom Kingdom’s mushroom forests.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie is an entertaining but flawed film that respects its characters without taking them too seriously.
The film’s two post-credits scenes represent this dichotomy, while its first ending lays the groundwork for a hypothetical Super Mario Bros. Movie sequel to spend more time in the Mushroom Kingdom and other associated amazing realms. Obviously, the production of said sequel is still uncertain.

Super Mario Movie Plot
The film begins with Bowser, the villain, invading an icy realm and capturing its citizens, including stealing a powerful Super Star.
Then, it transitions to the story of Mario and Luigi, who are presented as plumbers in New York City. They witness a news broadcast about a large leak in the city and try to repair it but end up being swept away through a Warp Zone. Mario finds himself in the mystical Mushroom Kingdom, where he meets Toad, who tells him that his brother has landed in the Darklands, under Bowser’s power.
Mario seeks Princess Peach’s help, and she agrees to bring him along on a mission to stop Bowser from invading her realm. Along the way, they traverse various locations and meet different characters, including Donkey Kong, who they defeat.

They eventually use karts to return to the Mushroom Kingdom through the Rainbow Road, where Bowser’s army ambushes them, causing Mario and Donkey Kong to fall into the ocean.
Bowser arrives in the Mushroom Kingdom and captures Peach’s allies, while Mario and Donkey Kong use the rocket from DK’s kart to escape a Maw-Ray and rush to Bowser and Peach’s wedding. There, they defeat Bowser and rescue the hostages, resulting in a happy ending.
