Sicario 3 Release Date: The Latest News and Rumors on the Sequel
Sicario 3 Release Date: Sicario and its follow-up were two of the most important action dramas of the 2010s. However, Sicario 3 has not yet been released, even though there have been reports about it for years. The 2015 movie Sicario is about a task force that goes up against a Mexican drug gang led by CIA agent Matt Graver and the mysterious hitman Alejandro Gillick.
But by the end of the movie, it’s clear that the task force’s real goal is to keep the gang under more control. Alejandro and Matt are back in 2018’s Sicario: Day of the Soldado, working on another completely illegal job. It’s not as well-liked as the first movie, but it does a great job of setting up the world and making things ready for Sicario 3.
The first Sicario movie did very well at the box office and with critics. Box Office Mojo says the movie made $85 million on a $30 million budget, which is good enough to deserve a sequel. In 2018, Sicario: Day of the Soldado didn’t get as many good reviews, in part because Villeneuve didn’t return to direct the follow-up.
Because of this, the picture didn’t have the bright images of the original. But Taylor Sheridan came back as the author, and the story of the continuation is just as interesting as the first one. Even though Sheridan was revealed to be back as a screenwriter for Sicario 3, the third movie has not been released yet.
Sicario 3 Release Date
There is no set date for when Sicario 3 will come out. We might not see the movie until 2025 because it is still being made. Don’t hold your breath, though, because they haven’t started making the movie yet.
In September 2023, The Messenger talked to directors Erica Lee and Basil Iwanyk and found out that the movie is still being made. Iwanyk said, “Oh yeah,” when asked if it was true. Lee also said about the 2023 Writers Strike, “When we can keep writing it.” Even though it was cut down, the idea is great.
It looks like they’re sure it will be one of their best movies.
Who Will Be in Sicario 3?
It looks like Josh Brolin and Benicio del Toro will play Matt Graver and Alejandro Gillick again in Sicario 3.
I’m not sure about the rest of the actors who might be in the future movie, though. It looked like Miguel Hernandez, played by Elijah Rodriguez, would have a follow-up at the end of the last movie. So, he might show up in the next movie.
Here is a list of possible Sicario 3 group members:
Actor/Actress | Character |
---|---|
Benicio del Toro | Alejandro Gillick |
Josh Brolin | Matt Graver |
Elijah Rodriguez | Miguel Hernandez |
Isabela Moner | Isabel Reyes |
What Is Going to Happen in Sicario 3?
We don’t know what Sicario 3 is about yet, but based on what happened in the last movie, it looks like the next part of the story will be about Miguel Hernandez’s training.
At the end of Day of the Soldado, Alejandro Gillick went up to Miguel and asked him to be a guide to the young gang member. Thus, Sicario 3 will follow the two as they rise through the ranks of the cartel’s leadership.
The name of the movie, “Sicario: Capos,” makes it sound like our heroes will be going after the top criminals this time. No longer do I have to deal with Soldados (soldiers). Since cops run the gang, you can expect more action and shootouts.
Does Sicario 3 Have a Trailer?
Even though Sicario 3 has been planned for years, there is still no trailer for it because filming has not yet started.
While waiting for the premiere of the Sicario 3, you can watch more shows in the same genre. Some examples of such shows are Superman Legacy and Woke Up a Vampire.
Conclusion
Sicario 3, a sequel to the 2010 action drama Sicario, is still being developed and may not be released until 2025. The movie follows Matt Graver and Alejandro Gillick, who rise through the ranks of the Mexican drug gang.
The story follows the task force’s efforts to keep the gang under control. The film is set to follow the characters as they continue to work on illegal jobs, with the main focus on action and shootouts. Despite the ongoing development, there is no trailer for Sicario 3.
