Star Wars Theory Explained: Is Rey Pregnant?

Star Wars Theory Explained: 15 years after the defeat of Emperor Palpatine, Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker will depict Rey’s efforts to reestablish the Jedi Order in a new film titled Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

However, the most intriguing aspect of the film was the relationship between Rey and Ben Solo (Kylo Ren), as their lives were destined to be intertwined.

This relationship with Kylo Ren prompted fans to speculate that there may be more to this Dyad. So, was Rey pregnant during the events of The Rise of Skywalker?

Star Wars Theory Explained

Rey’s pregnancy has not been certified, but we do not rule out the possibility that she is pregnant. Considering that the next Star Wars story featuring her character takes place 15 years later, it is conceivable that Rey’s child will train to become a Jedi.

Even though many fans were dissatisfied with the events of The Rise of Skywalker, it leaves much room for interpretation. Even though it has never been confirmed, the possibility that Rey is expectant is one of the topics we are discussing. Having said that, let’s discuss further the evidence supporting Rey’s potential pregnancy.

Is Rey Pregnant?

The events that occurred immediately after Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker are typically unknown, as this portion of the Star Wars narrative has yet to be investigated. 15 years after she defeated Palpatine in The Rise of Skywalker, Rey will be featured as the main character in a new film that will be set 15 years later.

But before we discuss that, some fans are speculating that Rey could be pregnant during the events of Episode IX. Obviously, this was something that was never discussed in the film and was never confirmed by anyone involved with The Rise of Skywalker. Nonetheless, there are indications that Rey may have become impregnated in the film.

The Birth Control Necklace

During the events of The Rise of Skywalker, Rey and her companions attended the Aki-Aki Festival of Life, where Rey was given a yellow fertility necklace by Nambi Ghima. Obviously, when we discuss fertility, we cannot avoid relating it to the likelihood of a woman becoming pregnant.

Fertility Necklace

Although The Rise of Skywalker left many questions unanswered, this fertility necklace seems to indicate that Rey was going to become impregnated at some point in the future.

Ultimately, why would the director include this scene if it had no concealed significance? Therefore, it is conceivable that this scene of Rey receiving a fertility necklace was a sign that she would become a mother in the future.

The Name Skywalker

Despite the fact that Rey is a Palpatine by blood, she was unaware of her family name until it was disclosed to her that she was related to the emperor.

She also denied her bloodline because she realized that Sheev Palpatine was a tyrant who sought to consolidate all power in his own hands. Consequently, she defied her ancestor and continued the Skywalker legacy by putting an end to Darth Sidious for good.

In the final scene of The Rise of Skywalker, Rey was questioned about her surname when she visited Luke Skywalker’s childhood home. Rey responded that she was a Skywalker despite not being related to the Skywalkers in any way.

Some believed that she chose to become a Skywalker because she was close to Luke and Leia, but her connection to Ben Solo, who is a Skywalker on his mother’s side, could also have made her a legal Skywalker. Ben, also known as Kylo Ren, was Rey’s obvious romantic interest in the sequel films.

And despite the fact that Ben perished without marrying Rey, their connection seemed to indicate that Rey was just as much a Skywalker as he was. Therefore, it is conceivable that she chose the Skywalker name because she was carrying a Skywalker’s child.

Rey Used the Force to Heal Kylo Ren

In the scene where Rey used the Force to heal Kylo Ren, he placed his hand on her chest. Ben had his hand over Rey’s womb in a comparable scene where he was the one healing her with his life force.

Everyone is aware that this curative power is accomplished by transferring one’s life force to another individual. This is the cause of Ben’s death, as he exhausted himself while treating Rey.

Nevertheless, when he transferred his life force into Rey by healing her with his palm over her womb, he unknowingly transferred himself into her to create life.

The Connection Between Rey and Kylo Ren

The concept of the Dyad was introduced during the events of The Rise of Skywalker when Palpatine discussed the strength of the connection between Rey and Kylo Ren. Obviously, the concept of the Dyad was not fully explained, but we all know that it was powerful enough to restore Palpatine’s power and enable him to become the most powerful Sith in Star Wars history.

Nonetheless, there may be a deeper meaning behind the Dyad concept. When we say that a man and a woman are fated to be together, we typically mean that they are destined to fall in love and procreate.

Consequently, the concept of the Dyad permitted Rey and Ben to have intertwined fates in the sense that they were potentially destined to have a child together.

We are aware that Rey and Ben are members of the two most prominent Force families in recent memory, Palpatine and Skywalker, respectively.

Given that they were the Dyad and were destined to have intertwined lives, it was likely that they were also destined to have a child who would bring together two families that had been in conflict. Because of this, it is possible that Rey is carrying a Skywalker child with Palpatine’s DNA.
