Explaining Why They Never Took Things to “a Different Level,” George Clooney and Julia Roberts
George Clooney and Julia Roberts have recently opened out about their lifelong friendship and the reason why they never “truly were a thing” in terms of dating.
In an interview on Wednesday to promote the new film “Ticket to Paradise,” the Academy Award winners discussed their connection, including their first impressions of one another. The interview was conducted for Access Hollywood.
Both Clooney and Roberts spoke to the leading guy as “kind,” with Roberts citing Clooney’s ability to “make me giggle.”
After then, the two participants responded to a barrage of questions regarding their close relationship posed by the host, Kit Hoover.
When asked about the quality in the other that they appreciate the most, Clooney immediately gushed over the “compassion” of the “Pretty Woman” actress, while Roberts lauded his “fortitude.”
After that, Hoover posed a tantalising question to the actors, who have worked together in a number of movies, including 2001’s “Ocean’s Eleven,” 2002’s “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind,” 2004’s “Ocean’s Twelve,” and 2016’s “Money Monster.” Many fans have been waiting with bated breath to hear how the actors will respond to the question.
“Did you ever have a rule in place that said ‘no dating’ when you were younger?” Hoover asked.
To not go out on dates with each other? Roberts inquired, following it up with a chuckle and the statement, “I don’t think we needed to mention that.”
Clooney, who has been married to human rights lawyer Amal Clooney since 2014, recently discussed the reasons why he and his wife have never taken their relationship to “a new level.” He explained that even in the past, there have been other individuals in their lives.
“There was always someone in a relationship, whether it was Julia or myself. And from that moment on, we got along famously. Therefore, it was nothing, but we have had nothing but joy because of it. According to the actor who starred in “Gravity,” “I don’t think that was ever actually a thing.”
In the year 2002, Roberts wed the film director and cinematographer Danny Moder. They have three children together: Hazel and Phinnaeus, who are twins and are 17 years old, and Henry, who is 15 years old.
Roberts, who is known as “Auntie Juju” to Clooney’s twin children, Alexander and Ella, who are 5 years old, quipped that the mere idea of having a romantic relationship with her close friend makes her stomach flip.
After that, they had a funny flirtation with each other, which prompted the leading lady to act like she was going to throw up.
“Well, there’s no need for you to respond so badly!” He responded while laughing it off.
On October 21, the film “Ticket to Paradise,” which follows the story of a divorced couple who travel to Indonesia in an effort to prevent their daughter from repeating the mistakes they made in their own lives, will be released in theatres.
