Ex-Best Friend of Meghan Markle Did Not Make It Into ‘Harry & Meghan’
Helen Keller once said, “What we once cherished deeply cannot be lost. For everything we deeply love becomes a part of us.” And while that is a lovely sentiment, friendships can change with the seasons.
It must be difficult for a person like Meghan Markle to cultivate a reliable friend group.
Meghan and her husband, the artist formerly known as Prince Harry, released a Netflix documentary series detailing their side of the story. However, they also received assistance from several of their friends. In Harry & Meghan, we are introduced to what appears to be Meghan’s inner circle, but viewers who have followed her journey will notice one member is missing.
What happened to Jessica Mulroney, Meghan’s former best friend? You are aware of the adage that “friend” cannot be spelled without an end.
Where is the Former Best Friend of Meghan Markle?
There is a moment in Harry & Meghan that occurs so quickly that you would have missed it if you blinked. Meghan is FaceTiming with Jess just before Harry’s proposal to her.
“Oh my god, Jess. It is occurring. He warned me not to look “Meghan is speaking to the unknown individual on the other end of the line. That is the only time we “see” or “hear” Jessica Mulroney, whom we assume to be her.
Not only did Jessica attend Meghan’s wedding, but her children also participated. These two were extremely close. What happened then?
According to Page Six, Jessica, Archie’s godmother, was “accused of ‘textbook white privilege’ by Canadian blogger Sasha Exeter when she mistakenly believed a blog criticizing the response to the Black Lives Matter movement was directed at her.” Additionally, Exeter asserted that Jessica threatened to sue her.
Jessica issued an apology on her own Instagram after Exeter called her out in an Instagram post. She began by stating that Exeter was correct in calling her out for “not doing enough to engage in the important and challenging conversation surrounding race and injustice in our society.”
She continued, “I want to say from the bottom of my heart that every word of my private apologies to Sasha over the past two weeks, and again publicly and privately today, are true.”
Jessica promised to hand over her platform to Black creators to amplify their voices, but the comments below her apology indicate that she never fulfilled this promise.
Meghan distanced herself from her best friend of ten years after this incident. Jessica specifically mentioned Meghan in her apology to Exeter. Jessica wrote that she should have made better decisions, especially because she “lived a very public and intimate experience with my closest friend in which race played a prominent role.” Supposedly, Meghan was extremely frustrated afterward.
How did Meghan Markle and Jessica Mulroney meet?

As the daughter-in-law of a former Canadian prime minister, she dressed people like Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, the wife of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Jessica’s role as Meghan’s stylist was never confirmed, but she appeared to have influenced many of her fashion choices. Even more, Jessica introduced Meghan to several Canadian brands, including “Line the Label, Smythe, and Sentaler.” The two have traveled together, including to the Amalfi Coast in 2016, for which they created their hashtag, #MJxItaly.
In addition to their friendship, Jessica and Meghan share a passion for charitable work. Meghan served as a spokesperson for Jessica’s charitable organization, the Shoebox Project for Shelters, which “delivers gifts to homeless or shelter-dwelling women.”
A decade is a substantial amount of time for friendship. Perhaps Meghan and Jessica can resolve their differences.
