Does Shanks Die in One Piece? The Legendary Pirate’s Destiny
One of the most adored One Piece characters, Shanks has been a part of the fandom’s hearts since the very first chapter of the narrative. From the outset, it was abundantly evident that Shanks was a pivotal figure who would play a bigger role later on in the narrative.
Although there wasn’t much Shanks content in the early parts of One Piece, as viewers neared the conclusion of the narrative, Shanks was given more prominent responsibilities.
Shanks will play a significant part as he joins the epic game to retrieve the One Piece now that the plot is in the Final Saga. He can therefore be considered a rival and an active participant for many other characters.
Shanks has been shown to be a highly powerful character right from the start, but that also comes with a lot of death flags that he has been carrying around for a while. The fans are holding their breath because Shanks has a good possibility of dying in the Final Saga.
Shanks’ Involvement in One Piece Up to This Point
To date, Shanks has portrayed two significant characters in One Piece, and they are both connected. Shanks’s first contribution was to set Luffy on the course to become the Pirate King. When he stole the Gum Gum Fruit from the World Government at the beginning of the story, this is what happened.
He was spotted camping in the East Blue as soon as he had stolen it. Even though Shanks didn’t want to consume this Devil Fruit himself, it was obvious that he had some plans for it. He might have wanted to locate Gol D. Roger’s child and give him this Devil Fruit. Maybe he was thinking of something else.
In any case, Luffy was the one who consumed this Devil Fruit, and since Shanks had previously noticed something in him, he trusted him with his reliable Straw Hat and requested him to meet him at the top so that he could eventually give it back to him.
This is by far Shanks’s most significant part in One Piece to date. Additionally, he has continuously performed the function of a peacekeeper, at least until the story’s Wano Arc.
Shanks has always made every effort to steer clear of confrontation and keep the period from devolving into anarchy. This was demonstrated in the beginning of the story when he first encountered Whitebeard and urged him to summon Ace back.
Later, he tried to halt the Paramount War by entering it. He was also spotted throughout Wano, stopping Greenbull from doing any damage to the nation, and meeting with the Five Elders to warn them about a particularly deadly pirate. Up until a certain point in the plot, it was rather obvious to the fans that Shanks wanted to keep the peace.
Shanks In The Final Saga
Fans were taken aback by Shanks’ unexpected and intriguing transformation in the Final Saga. Since Oda has already stated that Shanks would play a significant role in the Final Saga, fans are already aware of this.
Oda claims that fans may have assumed that the story’s conclusion was near when Shanks began to show up often. One Piece’s presence in the Final Saga is further confirmed by the fact that Shanks has made numerous appearances and that the Final Saga has already been completed. What is startling, though, is not how he looks. It is the recent change in his objectives.
As soon as Kaido and Big Mom, two of the Four Emperors, fell, Shanks made the decision that it was time to move for the One Piece. “It’s time for them to enter the great game and claim the One Piece for themselves,” he said in an interview with Beckman just outside of Wano.
The way Shanks alludes to claiming the One Piece is thought to be far more forceful in Japanese than any previous character in the story, even though some of what he stated may not translate well. This indicates that Shanks is committed to obtaining this wealth and challenging Luffy.
The Risks That Shanks Face
Needless to say, Shanks is one of One Piece’s most formidable pirates. He is currently one of the Yonko of the Sea since he is a fantastic fighter and is considered to be one of the brightest stars in the New World. Fans have witnessed his strength on multiple times, and it is evident that he is capable of competing with the great majority of pirates.
He actually has a good chance of being the strongest person on the planet at the moment. Shanks now hold the greatest known bounty on the seas following the downfall of Kaido and Big Mom. In actuality, Shanks was never truly displaying his full might, even with those two there.
Even though he was waiting and not pursuing the One Piece, he still had a huge bounty that was very near to these two characters. Perhaps Shanks would have been proclaimed the strongest player if he had been in the One Piece game from the beginning.

Additionally, Shanks will draw additional threats to himself if he pursues the One Piece. After all, Shanks will face a lot of adversaries in the fantastic One Piece game. The World Government is the first of these adversaries.
As a member of the Figarland Family, Shanks is undoubtedly privy to certain truths that ought to remain hidden. It’s possible that the government will turn against him. But his greatest adversary is none other than Marshall D. Teach, popularly known as Blackbeard, his former competitor.
Are Shanks Able to Survive?
Fans will undoubtedly witness the main pirates in action during the Final Saga. Indeed, in the Egghead storyline, they had already fought significant conflicts. For example, it was shown that Blackbeard was smashing the Heart Pirates by himself while Shanks was crushing the Kid Pirates alone.
These two characters serve important roles in One Piece. Fans can be sure that Buggy won’t die because his character doesn’t have any death flags. Buggy is also a dark horse in the One Piece race and might as well win it in the end.
The main character, Luffy, cannot possibly die before ascending to the position of Pirate King and throwing a lavish party at the conclusion of the story.
Shanks is the only major character who is capable of dying. This death won’t happen suddenly either. Ever since he first faced Blackbeard, Shanks has been displaying death flags. His face is scarred in three places from this encounter, and he is aware that these scars still hurt.
These two pirates nearly faced off against one another during the Paramount War. But Blackbeard pointed out that it was not yet time for a fight. In fact, Shanks was searching for Blackbeard even in Wano when he showed up.
When Shanks destroyed Kid in Elbaf, he was on his way to somewhere that was probably connected to Blackbeard as well. Blackbeard is concerned about anything Shanks does since he is aware of the risk this individual carries.
Although fans may not think of Blackbeard as dangerous right now, it is obvious that he is among the most dangerous individuals on the planet, and there is no better way to demonstrate that than by murdering Shanks, the adored red-haired pirate.
Even if Shanks is stronger, he will undoubtedly lose if these two characters battle. This is merely due to the fact that Luffy should fight Blackbeard rather than Shanks. There will inevitably be a clash between these two characters, and Shanks will either suffer a severe defeat or possibly be eliminated.
