Candace Cameron Bure’s husband, Val, was reluctant to wear his Olympic medals

For one very specific reason, Candace Cameron Bure remembered, her husband Val Bure didn’t display his Olympic medals in public.

As though I had anything to do with it, I wanted to share [some] medals with you. I was merely a wife who helped. On Sunday, August 4, 48-year-old Cameron Bure shared on her Instagram Story:

“These are Val’s medals.” “This is the bronze from the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Games, and this is the silver from the 1998 Nagano Olympic Games in Japan.”

The medals were on a table, but Cameron Bure took them off to try them on and said, “They’re pretty heavy.” It’s really lovely.

The pair treasured the opportunities to celebrate Bure’s Olympic accomplishments together.

Maks was three weeks old during the 2002 Games. Cameron Bure, who is married to 50-year-old Bure, stated, “I had him with me and was breast-feeding him in the stands.” Bure and Natasha Bure have kids Lev, 24, and Maksim, 22. “When they won the silver medal in Japan, I was expecting Natasha.”

Despite his team’s two podium finishes at the Winter Olympics, Bure, who competed for Russia, was still aiming for the gold medal. Though her spouse disagreed, Cameron Bure carried the awards “proudly.”

“Val didn’t want to wear them because they weren’t gold,” Cameron Bure disclosed. However, they are very amazing, and I am quite happy for him. In our home, we proudly exhibit them.

Ever since her Full House co-star Dave Coulier first met them in 1994 at a charitable hockey game, Cameron Bure has been an advocate for her husband’s professional endeavors. Less than a year after they started dating, the couple got engaged, and in 1996 they exchanged vows.

Cameron Bure talked candidly earlier this year about how she and Bure have managed to keep their marriage strong for almost thirty years.

She gave Us Weekly an exclusive interview in April, saying, “There are trials along the way, but I’m grateful we’ve stuck through them.” She also praised each other for having “a lot of love and respect.” “We’re still together, really, by the grace of God, because you have ups and downs in life.”

For the benefit of their children, the couple has put their relationship first. Cameron Bure told Us, “Above all, we just want what’s best for each other.”

Cameron Bure sparked controversy by expressing her thoughts about the Paris opening ceremony prior to considering her personal connection to the Olympics.

Cameron Bure questioned a scene at the Olympics last month when drag performers and dancers approached DJ, producer, and LGBTQIA+ icon Barbara Butch, who was wearing a silver headdress.

In an Instagram video, the actress expressed her disgust, stating, “Witnessing such an extraordinary event over the next two weeks, only to see the opening ceremonies completely desecrate and ridicule the Christian faith with their interpretation of the Last Supper, was appalling.

It deeply saddened me, and someone told me, ‘You shouldn’t be sad. You should be angry about it.’ I replied, ‘Believe me, it does make me angry, but I’m more saddened because I feel for the souls involved.'”

But Olympic officials said that the image was of the Greek wine god Dionysus.

During a July news conference hosted by the International Olympic Committee, Paris 2024 spokesperson Anne Descamps stated:

“Clearly there was never an intention to show disrespect to any religious group.” “We made a sincere effort to honor communal tolerance. We think this goal was accomplished based on the poll results that we gave. Of course, we sincerely apologize to everyone we may have upset.
