As for the Second Season of “Heartbreak High” on Netflix, What Happened to It?
The new version of Heartbreak High, aimed towards young adults in Australia, debuted on Netflix in September 2022. Will there be a second season of it to look forward to? There have been rumblings, albeit nothing official has been communicated to us as of yet, that the show will be returning. The following information pertains to the upcoming second season of the Netflix original series Heartbreak High.
The original show from the 1990s that was remade into Heartbreak High is currently streaming in its entirety on Netflix across the majority of the world. It is a contemporary high school romance drama that is comparable to Elite and the drama Heartstopper that was released this year.
The series was unveiled to the public for the first time on September 14, 2022, despite having been initially announced in December 2020. It received mostly positive reviews upon its initial release. The fact that characters of varying ethnicities, genders, and disabilities were included received positive comments from several reviews.
Has Netflix Renewed or Cancelled Heartbreak High?
The official status of the renewal is now listed as “not yet renewed.”
According to the reports, it is very possible that the contract will be extended for another year.
The show got off to a shaky start on Netflix, as you will see in the following section, and it did not perform well in countries other than Australia. The fact that the show’s representatives actively tried to stop coverage was most likely one of the many factors that contributed to this result; nonetheless, in spite of this obstacle in the road, the show was eventually able to attract a viewership.
According to Michael Sun of The Guardian, who previously worked as a culture editor at Netflix Australia, the show’s popularity has increased because of TikTok. This is something that has happened with other shows in the past, such as Ginny & Georgia and Purple Hearts. The show has 12.5 billion views on TikTok at the time this article was written, which most likely led people to watch it on Netflix after discovering it on TikTok.
The news that the show would be returning for a second season was first reported by the Daily Telegraph in Australia on October 2nd. When we called Netflix, they said that they were unable to provide us with any information “at this moment.” The future of the show appears promising for the time being, but we have not yet received an official answer.
