The Vampire Season 2: Release Date, Storyline And Cast

News about the AMC Anne Rice television universe for Season 2 of Interview With the Vampire is beginning to surface.

Interview With the Vampire, which is based on the first book in Rice’s renowned Vampire Chronicles series, follows vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac as he tells a journalist about his incredible life.

Even though the narrative has already been adapted, the AMC series expands on Rice’s original concepts and updates them for a current audience.

AMC’s Interview With the Vampire was widely praised by critics for its lighthearted tone and skillful handling of Rice’s intricate prose (via Rotten Tomatoes). The film was also met with near-universal approval.

For AMC, who has fully committed to the Anne Rice universe with their companion series The Mayfair Witches, which is also set in the same realm, the positive reviews were simply the cherry on top. Considering all of that, the second season of Interview With the Vampire was inevitable.

The Vampire Season 2 Release Date

The much-anticipated debut date for Interview With the Vampire season 2 has finally been confirmed, following the delays brought on by the Hollywood strikes of 2023.

On May 12, 2024, at 9 PM ET, the Anne Rice adaption will make a repeat visit to AMC. It will premiere live and then be streamed on AMC+.

It has been revealed that Sam Reid as Lestat de Lioncourt and Jacob Anderson as Louis de Pointe du Lac will be returning to the second season of Interview With the Vampire. Eric Bogosian, meanwhile, is returning to the part of Daniel Molloy, though it’s unlikely that he’ll be on the show after Rice’s Interview With the Vampire book.

Assad Zama, who had a minor role in season 1, has been officially confirmed as a member of the cast for season 2. He will reprise his role as Armand, who is crucial to the series’ destiny.

While Claudia’s character has been recast for season 2, Ben Daniels will return to the part of Santiago. Delainey Hayles will portray the tragic young vampire role that Bailey Bass originally played.

The Vampire’s Season 2 Story

The tale of the first book was only partially completed by the first season, so the second season of Interview with the Vampire will complete the storyline of the first book.

Additionally, the first season concluded on a shocking cliffhanger when Claudia persuaded Louis to assist her in killing Lestat so they could get away from his grasp. But Louis was unable to succeed, and in the end, he saved Lestat by putting him in a locked coffin and putting him in a rat-infested waste where the vampire would eventually heal itself.

It’s also intriguing to note that Louis was lying to Daniel in the first season, at least when it came to significant plot points. This raises many concerns since it casts Louis as an untrustworthy narrator, making it impossible for viewers to know, at least on the surface, that anything he says is true or accurate.

The Vampire's Season 2 Story

Additionally, it was revealed at the conclusion of Season 1 of Interview With the Vampire that Rashid was Armand from the books, which creates a whole new universe for Season 2 of the show.
