The Old Man Season 2 Plot and Cast
The creators of The Old Man Season 2 haven’t said anything about the story, and they haven’t even said when it will come out.
Now, let’s talk about the cast, which includes Jeff Bridges as Dan Chase, E. J. Bonilla as Raymond Waters, Leem Lubany as a young Belour Hamzad, Gbenga Akinnagbe as Julian Carson, John Lithgow as Harold Harper, Bill Heck as a young Johnny Kohler, Alia Shawkat as Angela Adams, Amy Brenneman as Zoe McDonald, and many others.
The Old Man Season 2 Story Details
The Old Man will definitely raise the stakes now that both Dan and Harold are back in the game. This means that both of these seasoned soldiers will have to brush up on their fighting skills.
Angela, played by Alia Shawkat, is still being held captive, so getting her back might be one of the main goals of the season 2 opening. Angela still doesn’t know that Hamzad is her father, unlike the viewers.
This means that the big reveal for Angela is still to come. In the same way, a few surprises about Zoe are also likely. Dan Sholtz wants to learn more about Zoe’s past, so it’s possible that her appearance in his life is more than just a coincidence.
You can expect a few flashbacks to help explain some of The Old Man’s biggest turns. But it’s also possible that they get less intense in season 2.
Now that Dan and Harold are in the same frame, they might still talk about their time in Afghanistan together, but they might do it better through conversation than through flashbacks.
The Old Man executive producer Jon Steinberg told Deadline, “Part of the plan for season 2 is for these guys to go back to this place where they spent so much time when they were younger and see the past through their present eyes.”

Also, it’s important to know that The Old Man is based on Thomas Perry’s 2017 book of the same name. Even though the first season of The Old Man was still about a man on the run, the story went in a different direction.
In Perry’s book, the main character is being chased by a cruel dictator and the U.S. government because he stole $20 million from Hamzad. But the show replaces the money theme with a more human one: Hamzad’s wife, who becomes a love interest, Dan.
In the same way, Hamzad’s relationship with Angela isn’t in the book, so the showrunners can explore new plots even if they finish the events of the book.
