Even though he had to put off some live shows because he needed more surgery for gallstones and repeated gallbladder infections, Gilbert is still positive and is looking forward to leading a fundraising trek to the highest point in North Africa, Mount Toubkal in Morocco’s Atlas Mountains, in October.

Since being diagnosed, the Welsh comedian has had chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery. He said that he feels better overall and is getting better day by day. He plans to keep doing what his doctor tells him to do before going back to work.

Gilbert also said that some days he feels well enough to write, and he has a feeling that there will be a show in it when he is completely better.
