The upcoming year will see the debut of not one, but two brand new BTS-centric projects that have been announced by Disney+.
Both of these films were presented by the streaming service earlier today (November 30), as a part of a larger announcement that detailed a number of new works that would be accessible through the streaming service in the year 2023.
As a first-of-its-kind offering and an exclusive production for Disney+, the “musical documentary series” BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star will be made available for streaming on the platform. BTS Monuments is a documentary that “charts the incredible journey of 21st century pop icon BTS.” The documentary is said to provide “unprecedented access” to the band’s extensive collection of music and video footage spanning the last nine years of the band’s existence. The seven members of BTS, who are described as “preparing for the second chapter,” will have their day-to-day lives, ideas, and plans featured in the series as well.
A thorough documentary on BTS is also in the works to be released on Disney+. In addition, a solo documentary about J-Hope is also in the works to be released on Disney+, although its title has not been revealed publicly. The streamer claims that this series would “follow pop singer J-Hope ahead of his recently released solo album,” where “recently released solo album” refers to “Jack In The Box,” which was released in July. The broadcast will include behind-the-scenes footage of the album production process, as well as footage of the album listening party and his epic performance at Lollapalooza 2022.

In other BTS-related news, bandmate RM is currently preparing for the release of his solo debut album “Indigo,” which is scheduled to be released this coming weekend on December 2. The album features a number of guest artists who collaborated with RM to record the album, and the album is set to be released this weekend.
Musicians such as Anderson Paak, Scoreboard from Epik High, Paul Blanco, Erica Baduch, and others are featured on albums by selected Indigo artists. Even though “Indigo” will be RM’s first solo album, it will come after the BTS member’s two mixtapes: the self-titled “RM” mixtape from 2015 and the “mono” mixtape from 2018.
