Goo Yang-chun is killed while protecting hostages. Jang-hyun tells Gil-chae to go ahead, but he waits behind. Gil-chae successfully leads those who were captured during the war to Neunggun-ri, where the village chiefs greet them.

Jang-hyun and Gil-chae cry together in each other’s arms while a beautiful sunset plays in the background. The waves of the ocean hide their sadness as they listen to each other’s happy cries.
