His father, Mike, works as an engineer at a nuclear power plant, and his mother, Merry (nee Flowers), is a well-known real estate agent in the country. She grew up with Erin and Dana, her two older sisters. When he was 12 years old, his whole family moved to Citrus County, Florida.
Teller used to be in a rock band while he was in high school at Lecanto. He played the alto saxophone. He was also the leader of the drama club and played the drums in a band for church kids.
