Riley Strain, a student at the University of Missouri (Mizzou), was kicked out of a bar on Lower Broadway in Music City’s central entertainment district, which is famously known as “honky-tonk row,” on March 8, 2024. He was last seen.
His name was John and he went to Nashville with his fraternity, Delta Chi, for their yearly spring formal. When he went missing, the Metro Nashville Police Department sent out a tweet that said:
“Officers continue to work to locate missing person Riley Strain, 22, who was last seen Fri. night by friends @ a Broadway bar in Nashville. Riley is from Missouri and was visiting. He is 6’5″ tall with a thin build, blue eyes and light brown hair. See him? Pls call 615-862-8600.”

What Did People In The Community Do To Honor Riley Strain?
A ceremony with candles was held on Friday, March 22 at 7 p.m. under the James Robertson Parkway bridge on Gay Street to remember Riley Strain. The event took place near where he was last seen on March 8.
A lot of the people in the group had helped with the search. Around 7:30 p.m., they lit lights and said prayers for Strain’s family. Strain’s family got together in a small room at the Metro Nashville Police Headquarters on Friday, March 22, to thank the community.
“Michelle Whiteid,” Strain’s mother, said, “I just want all the moms out there to please hug their babies tight tonight.” Please help me. Tonight, give your babies a big hug.
