The Director of ‘Godzilla Vs. Kong’ Reveals What Could Have Been the Film’s Post-credit Scene
After nearly two years, the second chapter in Legendary and Warner Bros’ MonsterVerse story, Godzilla vs. Kong, has finally arrived in theatres.
The film, unlike the other entries in the MonsterVerse film franchise, did not contain a post-credits scene. While discussing the subject, filmmaker Adam Wingard disclosed that a portion of the film was intended to be the end credits sequence. Continue reading to learn more.

While discussing the same, the director of Godzilla vs. Kong revealed that the last scene of Kong meandering around in the Hollow Earth after the film’s much-discussed battle was the missing Godzilla vs. Kong post-credit scene, potentially setting up future MonsterVerse films.

In addition, Wingard divulged the film’s original ending by stating that the moment in which Godzilla returned to the water after his battle with Kong and MechaGozdilla was the film’s conclusion. During contact with GamesRadar+ representatives, Wingard shared the aforementioned facts.

After the scuffle and the inevitable fight with MechaGodzilla, the film depicts Godzilla and Kong going their separate ways. As previously mentioned, Godzilla returned to his area of the Hollow Earth after the battle, whilst Kong took a different route.

Kong’s travels led him to a location containing a shrine dedicated to his ancestors and a throne formerly occupied by one of them.
Through this, the film attempted to convey that both titans achieved their goals; while Godzilla ensured the earth’s safety through the limb-by-limb amputation of Apex’s version of the atomic lizard, Kong discovered where he came from and returned to the location that is known to be the breeding ground for Kong’s race and the other Titans.
