Netflix has crammed two seasons of the Spanish teen drama Elite into its calendar this year, with the second season becoming available to stream this week. Following in the footsteps of other teen successes such as Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars, the series follows a group of students at the renowned educational institution Las Encinas who are in dire danger.

Itzan Escamilla will not return as Samuel (aka Samu) after the dramatic events of Elite season 5. Claudia Salas (Rebeka aka Rebe), Georgina Amorós (Cayetana), and Pol Granch (Phillipe) are all gone from the cast list.
Longtime performer Omar Ayuso is also not scheduled to appear, but he will reportedly reprise his role as Omar Shanaa in the forthcoming seventh season.
Plot
The plot will continue after Samuel’s death and Benjam’s imprisonment, according to the Season 6 trailer. Netflix tweeted in October 2021, “Exciting announcement: Elite has been renewed for a sixth season!” In September 2022, Netflix stated that the sixth season of Elite will launch on November 18 alongside a trailer revealing the new characters. For the first time in Elite’s existence, each year will have two seasons.
