After attending a pool party in Hollywood Hills, California, in the year 2020, Megan, whose real name is Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, levelled the accusation that Tory Lanez had shot her.
The event took place at the height of the demonstrations in support of the Black Lives Matter movement, and it spurred a conversation about the scepticism that black women encounter when they speak up against their abusers.
Megan garnered support from a lot of famous people, including Michael B. Jordan, who is well known for his role as Black Panther and who tweeted at the time, “Meg @theestallion, I respect your bravery and admire the fact that you spoke up; we need to support black women, protect black women, and believe black women.”
However, it would appear that Megan is still being criticised for speaking out about the shooting incident, and this time it is coming from the Canadian rapper Drake.
Fans were quick to pick up on one lyric in particular on the track “Circo Loco” from the new album that he and 21 Savage collaborated on and titled Her Loss.
Drake reportedly rapped the following lyrics: “This b*** lying about getting shot yet she still a stallion.”
