Did Luffy Found the One Piece?
In season 1 of Netflix’s live-action One Piece, Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hats begin their mission to find the eponymous One Piece, although viewers may wonder if Luffy ever succeeds in the original.
The One Piece anime series and manga series by Eiichiro Oda served as the inspiration for the Netflix series. It centers on Luffy, a teenage pirate who aspires to be the Pirate King in the future. The One Piece is a legendary treasure that he must find in order to accomplish it.
The One Piece is finally discovered by the former Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, who abandons it on an island before passing away. Other pirates are interested in obtaining the riches because it is unclear where this island is.
Luffy and his newly formed crew set off on a quest to find it in Netflix’s live-action One Piece, but season 1 doesn’t end with their triumph. Given how long Luffy’s quest for the One Piece lasts in the original material, that shouldn’t come as a huge surprise.
Is Luffy Able to Locate One Piece?
The truth is that it will take a long time for Luffy to discover the One Piece in Netflix’s live-action series. There are presently 1,091 published chapters in the One Piece manga, and Luffy has yet to find it.
The pirate has come a long way in his exploits, and compared to when he originally joined the Straw Hat crew, Luffy is now much closer to realizing his dream. It is unlikely that he will discover it in the first few seasons of the Netflix version, though, because his search is still ongoing.
The conclusion of One Piece season 1 leaves a lot of concerns unsolved as the live-action series concludes its first batch of episodes. The manga was so long that the first season of the show was never going to wrap things up.
It certainly couldn’t have solved the story’s greatest mystery. Luffy will probably reach the One Piece in the manga and anime before his live-action counterpart does. The protagonist of the series is actually making good progress toward finding the treasure in Oda’s original material.
Luffy Knows How to Get to the Location of the One Piece
Luffy understands how to locate the treasure, even though he hasn’t figured out the One Piece’s location in the One Piece manga. All you have to do is do it. A set of stones known as poneglyphs can be used to pinpoint the island where the One Piece is buried.
Together, they indicate where it is. Luffy has discovered the majority of these poneglyphs in the manga. He will be able to take the last step toward obtaining Gol D. Roger’s treasure after he obtains the entire set.
It’s unlikely that the Netflix version of One Piece will get to this point in Luffy’s journey anytime soon because he endures a lot before getting there. It appears that Oda’s significant involvement in the live-action One Piece is keeping it true to the original.
It will take some time for Luffy to discover the poneglyphs, let alone the fabled One Piece they lead to, unless something changes and the program deviates from the original.
When was Luffy Able to Find the One Piece?
Luffy won’t discover the titular treasure for a very long time unless Netflix makes some significant adjustments to the original One Piece content. However, in Oda’s manga, he’s probably going to get it shortly.
Although the story may continue for a few more years, the manga indicated that One Piece is in its last arc. It makes sense that Luffy would locate the remaining poneglyphs and the riches they lead to, especially since One Piece is coming to a close.
The live-action One Piece series on Netflix is a different matter. There is likely enough material for 13 to 15 seasons of the show, assuming the series follows the main plot of the original work. For a streaming series—especially one whose platform is notorious for cancellations—that is ambitious.
Another appearance or two appears plausible, considering that the live-action One Piece has been more well-received than some of Netflix’s other anime adaptations. It’s more doubtful if it will have a future as long as the original work, but it would be wonderful for fans who want to see Luffy’s adventure through to the very end.
