Annika Season 2 Release Date: Is Annika Worth Watching?

Annika Season 2 Release Date: Fans of Nicola Walker, you should know that the actor has committed to appearing in the second season of Alibi’s Annika in the role of DI Annika Stranded. Walker is no stranger to dramatic parts on British television, having been in shows including The Split and Unforgotten.

Walker released a statement expressing her excitement at returning to the show, saying, “We are all looking forward to combatting crime on sea and land with the MHU for a second series.” She then teased future plots by saying, “There are mysteries closer to home for Annika that will have to be faced.” This ride is going to be rough.

Annika Season 2 Plot

There will be six episodes, each one hour long, much like the first run. The MHU team will be tasked with solving a new murder case every week.

In case you forgot, DI Annika Stranded (the show’s namesake) is the head of the Marine Homicide Unit and she drives a speedboat (MHU). They’re looking into the gruesome and unexplained murders that have been taking place in Scotland’s rivers. The first time around, Stranded had plenty on her plate between a hostage crisis involving one of her officers, her temperamental adolescent daughter, and workplace drama.

Annika Season 2 Cast

Several actors will join Walker in reprising their roles. Jamie Sives will be back as DS Michael McAndrews, Katie Leung as DC Blair Ferguson, and Ukweli Roach as DS Tyrone Clarke. The dream will continue to work together at the Marine Homicide Unit.
