50 Cent-Produced Diddy Documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning Set to Premiere on Netflix
Los Angeles, CA — The rise and fall of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is coming to Netflix in the explosive new four-part documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning, executive-produced by longtime rival Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. The series premieres globally on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 3 a.m. ET, marking one of the year’s most anticipated streaming releases.
The project, directed by award-winning filmmaker Alexandria Stapleton, chronicles Combs’ meteoric ascent through the entertainment world — from founding Bad Boy Records to building a multimillion-dollar empire — before his dramatic downfall following federal prostitution and trafficking charges that led to a 50-month prison sentence.
A Mirror for Celebrity Culture
According to Stapleton, the series goes beyond scandal to explore how fame and public adoration can distort accountability.

“This isn’t just the story of Sean Combs or Cassie or the trial,” Stapleton said. “It’s a mirror reflecting how we idolize celebrities and the danger in placing them on such high pedestals. I hope this documentary serves as a wake-up call.”
The film was partly inspired by Combs’ former girlfriend, Casandra Fine Ventura (Cassie), whose 2023 sexual-assault lawsuit against the rapper-producer reignited public scrutiny of his behavior.
Inside The Reckoning
Netflix describes Sean Combs: The Reckoning as an unflinching look at “how something darker began to color his ambitions.” The docuseries features never-before-seen footage and exclusive interviews with former associates and insiders from Combs’ inner circle, many of whom are speaking publicly for the first time.
The first teaser features the voice of ex-Bad Boy Records artist Mark Curry, who famously appeared on the hit “Bad Boy for Life.” His warning sets the tone for the series:
“You can’t continue to keep hurting people, and nothing ever happens. It’s just a matter of time.”
50 Cent on the Project

For 50 Cent — whose G-Unit Film & Television banner produced the series — The Reckoning continues his pivot from hip-hop icon to prolific television producer.
“I’ve been committed to real storytelling for years,” Jackson said in a statement. “I’m grateful to everyone who came forward and trusted us with their stories, and proud to have Alexandria Stapleton bring this important project to life.”
Diddy’s Current Status
Sean Combs, now 56, remains in federal custody and is scheduled for release on May 8, 2028, though that date could change based on sentence adjustments. His legal team has unsuccessfully attempted to overturn his conviction or secure a retrial.
