Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman Reportedly Witnessed Ryan Reynolds Confront Justin Baldoni Over Blake Lively Fat-Shaming Allegations
Los Angeles, CA — Newly unsealed court documents in Blake Lively’s ongoing lawsuit against It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni reveal that Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman were allegedly present when Ryan Reynolds confronted Baldoni over claims of “fat-shaming” his wife, Blake Lively.
The reported confrontation took place on April 25, 2023, at the Reynolds-Lively penthouse in New York City — months before production wrapped on the film that has since become the center of a multimillion-dollar legal battle.
A Heated Confrontation Witnessed by A-List Friends
According to an email included in the newly unsealed exhibit — sent from Wayfarer Studios co-founder Jamey Heath’s team to Baldoni’s publicist in July 2024 — Reynolds “unloaded” on Baldoni during the private meeting, calling his alleged behavior toward Lively “horrible.”
The email claims that Baldoni “was fat-shaming Blake” by inquiring about her weight through her personal trainer, which led to the heated exchange. Reynolds reportedly told Baldoni, “How dare you f—ing ask about my wife’s weight? What’s wrong with you?”

The document further alleges that Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman — both close friends of Reynolds and Lively — were present during the encounter and witnessed the tense discussion. Sources claim Baldoni was “completely embarrassed and apologized,” even shedding tears during the confrontation.
Reps for Swift and Jackman have not commented on the claims.
Blake Lively’s Lawsuit and Baldoni’s Defense
Lively filed suit against Baldoni and others in December 2024, alleging sexual harassment and retaliation on the set of It Ends With Us, which Baldoni directed and starred in. The case is scheduled to go to trial in March 2026.
In her complaint, Lively accused Baldoni of “finding back-channel ways of criticizing her body and weight,” claiming that he contacted her personal trainer without consent and implied that she should lose weight in two weeks.

Baldoni denied the allegations, maintaining that he reached out to the trainer solely to learn Lively’s weight for logistical safety purposes while preparing for a lift scene, citing long-term back injuries.
In a since-dismissed $400 million countersuit, Baldoni alleged that the confrontation at Reynolds’ home was the result of misunderstanding and undue hostility. His attorneys described Reynolds’ tone as “angry and impassioned” but stopped short of calling it aggressive.
Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman’s Connection to the Case
While Swift’s name has surfaced multiple times in connection to the It Ends With Us controversy, her representatives have previously distanced her from the production.
In May 2024, Swift’s rep clarified that she had no creative or on-set involvement, stating:
“Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, and only permitted the use of one song — ‘My Tears Ricochet’ — for the soundtrack.”
Jackman, however, has maintained a visible friendship with Reynolds and Lively. He attended the film’s New York premiere in August 2024 and appeared with the couple on the cover of Vogue’s September issue that same year.
A Case Drawing Hollywood Attention
The alleged incident underscores the mounting tension surrounding the Lively-Baldoni legal battle, which has drawn widespread attention across the entertainment industry.
Both sides continue to prepare for trial in early 2026, with Lively’s legal team expected to call multiple witnesses — including Jackman and Swift — if the court deems their testimonies relevant.
The lawsuit has already led to revelations about behind-the-scenes disputes, creative conflicts, and the pressures facing high-profile Hollywood collaborations.
As the case unfolds, it promises to be one of the most closely watched legal dramas in Hollywood — intertwining A-list friendships, workplace allegations, and the complex politics of celebrity filmmaking.
