Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams has officially confirmed her new relationship — and this time, it’s with entrepreneur Patrice “Sway” McKinney.
On Friday, Nov. 28, Williams, 44, celebrated McKinney’s birthday with a heartfelt Instagram post that marked the hard launch of their romance. The post featured cozy photos of the couple embracing in front of a glittering Christmas tree and clips of them dancing together at a club.
“The Happiest Birthday @sway_thepro,” Williams captioned the post. “Hope this year continues to bring you everything you want and more! 🥂🍾 Can’t wait to act up Saturday!”
McKinney, who owns Encore Salon Suites in Atlanta, replied with a series of heart emojis — solidifying their relationship debut.
First Public Romance Since Divorce
This marks Williams’ first confirmed relationship since finalizing her divorce from Simon Guobadia in June 2025. The reality star filed for divorce in February 2024, just 15 months after marrying the Nigerian businessman.
Earlier this year, Williams spoke candidly at Culture Con about re-entering the dating world, revealing that she was “talking to two people — a man and a woman.”
“He is nice, and she is nice,” Williams said at the time.
The RHOA alum also shared that she was determined to approach dating differently this time — seeking genuine connections instead of falling for charm or love-bombing behavior.
“What I talked about with my therapist the other day was — I’m having a hard time opening up because they’re not narcissists,” Williams explained. “They’re asking me questions, they’re not letting me walk over them, and so I’m not feeling safe enough to open up yet. But if you want something different, you have to also be different.”
Embracing a New Chapter
Back in June, Williams told PEOPLE she planned to take time for herself before dating again.
“I’m going to do it different this time,” she said. “I’m going to be alone until I’m whole. And then when I’m whole, I will open myself back up so I don’t make the same mistake again.”
At the time, Williams even hinted at being open to exploring a same-sex relationship, saying that after her breakup she asked herself, “Do I like women enough? Can I get with a woman?”
Now, it seems she has her answer — and she’s embracing love on her own terms.
With her new relationship, Williams is entering a new era both personally and professionally, continuing to prove that she’s unafraid to evolve in the public eye.
