Pixar is set to make another big splash in animation with its upcoming original film Hoppers, now featuring a star-studded cast that includes Meryl Streep, Dave Franco, and Jon Hamm. Disney unveiled the movie’s full trailer on Thursday, offering fans their first in-depth look at the film ahead of its March 6, 2026 theatrical release.
A Fresh Story from the Mind Behind We Bare Bears
Written and directed by Daniel Chong, best known for creating We Bare Bears, Hoppers centers on Mabel (voiced by Piper Curda), a passionate animal lover who uses cutting-edge technology to “hop” her consciousness into a robotic beaver — allowing her to communicate directly with animals.
The trailer teases Mabel’s bold mission to bridge the human-animal divide, but her actions trigger a larger conflict. In one standout scene, Meryl Streep — voicing the formidable insect queen — delivers a commanding line that captures the movie’s blend of humor and tension:
“The animal council has been summoned. The shrill beaver is right. Their treachery ends here now! Let’s squish the humans.”
