Country music sensation Megan Moroney is clearing the air about rumors connecting her to San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa, insisting that dating isn’t on her radar right now.
The “Tennessee Orange” singer, 28, addressed the speculation in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE StyleWatch, following fan chatter that began after she attended a 49ers game in October.
Moroney was spotted in a private suite at Levi’s Stadium, holding a jersey labeled “Moroney 9” while watching the 49ers face off against the Arizona Cardinals. Although Bosa’s jersey number is 97, fans were quick to assume that her game-day appearance hinted at something romantic.
“I’m not dating right now at all,” Moroney clarified. “I’m too busy.”
Career Comes First
Moroney’s rise in the country music scene has been meteoric, and she admits that her focus remains squarely on her growing career. Her hit singles — including “6 Months Later” and “Am I Okay?” — have placed her among Nashville’s most-watched artists, leaving little time for dating.
The singer has also dealt with similar public curiosity before. Earlier this year, fans speculated about a possible relationship with country star Riley Green, after the two appeared to vacation in the same location. Green, 37, later confirmed on a podcast that he was “single.”
Addressing the Morgan Wallen Connection
Moroney also revisited the past rumors about her connection with Morgan Wallen, which began after the release of her viral hit “Tennessee Orange.” During a 2024 appearance on Call Her Daddy, she confirmed that while the pair were friends, they were never in an exclusive relationship.
“At the end of the day, being honest with my songwriting is what’s gotten me this far,” she said. “I never let the possibility that people might speculate stop me from writing about how a situation made me feel.”
Despite the gossip, Moroney had nothing but praise for Wallen, saying, “I think Morgan is great and his new album is great — he and I are still friends.”
Life Beyond the Spotlight
When she’s not performing or recording, Moroney says she enjoys spending downtime with her close friends from home — most of whom live outside the music industry.
“I like having spicy margaritas with my friends who have normal jobs,” she said with a laugh. “Sometimes it’s just nice to not talk about music for a little bit.”
For now, the rising country star is focused on her next chapter — filled with more music, tour stops, and creative inspiration — but romance, she says, will have to wait.
