Karrueche Tran Seemingly Confirms She’s Dating Deion Sanders: “If I Wasn’t Having Fun, I Wouldn’t Be in It”

Actress Karrueche Tran appears to have confirmed her romance with former NFL star Deion Sanders, revealing that she’s in a happy, drama-free phase of her love life.

The Claws star, 37, made the revelation while appearing on the What’s Next with J. Ryan podcast on August 28, alongside her longtime friend Christina Milian. When host J. Ryan teased her about “taking a liking to football recently,” Milian playfully chimed in with, “Hey! Touchdown!” — prompting laughter all around.

After a brief pause, Tran smiled and responded, “Yeah, I’m dating.” When asked whether she was enjoying herself, she added with a grin, “Yeah. If I wasn’t having fun, I wouldn’t be in it.”

A New Chapter for Karrueche Tran

Tran’s remarks come weeks after she sparked dating rumors with Deion Sanders, 58, when she appeared emotional in footage by Well Off Media, the company owned by Sanders’ son. The videos showed Tran sitting beside the Colorado Buffaloes head coach during his recent hospital stay for bladder surgery, leading fans to speculate about their relationship.

While neither has publicly confirmed their status, Tran’s cheerful demeanor during the podcast seemed to hint that she’s in a fulfilling relationship.

“I’m at a point in my life where I know what I want,” Tran said candidly. “I’ve dated a lot — young, old, did this, did that. And if I wasn’t happy and content, I’m not wasting my time. I’d rather be at home, namaste, in bed at nine o’clock doing my own thing if I’m not happy.”

Sanders Dodges the Question

Earlier this year, Sanders was asked directly about Tran on Asante Samuel’s podcast, Say What Needs To Be Said. Rather than confirm or deny, he laughed and pretended his connection was cutting out — a classic Coach Prime move.

“Everyone’s seen Karrueche Tran by your side during your hospital visit,” Samuel said at the time. “Everyone wants to know what that friendship is.”

Sanders simply smiled and playfully avoided answering.

Both Coming Off High-Profile Relationships

Tran was previously in an on-and-off relationship with Chris Brown from 2011 to 2015 and later linked to Rob Kardashian. Sanders was engaged to producer Tracey Edmonds before the couple announced their amicable split in December 2023 after more than a decade together.

As for Tran, she made it clear on the podcast that she’s finally found balance. “So yeah,” she concluded with a smirk, “I’m in a good place.”
