Celebrity MasterChef Finalist Dawn O’Porter Reveals Cheeky Tattoo Tribute to Husband Chris O’Dowd
Celebrity MasterChef finalist Dawn O’Porter surprised viewers during Tuesday night’s episode when she revealed that she has a cheeky — and deeply sentimental — tattoo dedicated to her husband, actor Chris O’Dowd. The broadcaster shared the story while preparing a kebab dish inspired by the moment her husband first told her he loved her.
A Tattoo with a Love Story Behind It
O’Porter, 46, told judges John Torode and Grace Dent that O’Dowd first confessed his love in a kebab shop called “Munchies.” To commemorate the milestone, she secretly had the shop’s name tattooed on her bum just one week before their 2012 wedding.
“For Chris’ wedding present, I got a tattoo of the name Munchies on my bottom because that was the name of the shop,” she said. “I had to hide it the whole week.”
The couple, who married in a three-day “WedFest” celebration in London, shared champagne out of a plastic bag during that memorable kebab-date — an experience O’Porter says “changed my life.”
O’Porter also has a small “O” tattoo on her right hand, a nod to the actor’s surname, which she incorporated into her own without taking it fully.
Cooking in Celebration of Their Love
For her semi-final challenge, O’Porter created a kebab featuring marinated chicken, lamb, pineapple, garlic sauce, and homemade bread — a tribute to the moment her relationship reached a turning point.
John Torode praised the “fantastic” meat and “fluffy” bread, while Grace Dent called the dish “fabulous.” O’Porter beamed at the feedback, adding, “I think Chris will have loved all that. I think he’ll feel very well represented and loved.”
Alfie Boe Eliminated Ahead of Final Three
The emotional episode also saw singer Alfie Boe, 52, eliminated after his Belgian Le Miserable cake failed to impress judges, who said it was overly “eggy.” The dish, dedicated to his late father, featured ginger and cinnamon poached apricots.
His departure confirmed the final three contestants:

Boe reflected on his exit with gratitude, saying, “This has been quite precious… I’m happy to be going home as a Celebrity MasterChef finalist.”
