Pop icon Miley Cyrus has officially confirmed her engagement to longtime boyfriend and musician Maxx Morando, marking a new chapter in her personal and professional life.
The 33-year-old Flowers singer revealed the news during an appearance on Good Morning America on Wednesday, following speculation sparked by her appearance at the Avatar: Fire and Ash premiere in Los Angeles earlier this week, where she was photographed wearing a dazzling gold and diamond engagement ring.
“I Was So, So, So Surprised”
Cyrus shared that Morando, 27, proposed during a recent romantic trip to Asia — and despite her reputation for being hard to surprise, she admitted the drummer managed to completely catch her off guard.
“I am not easy to surprise because I love to control every situation,” Cyrus said. “I had completely surrendered and I’m telling you, I was so, so, so surprised.”
The singer, glowing with excitement, proudly showed off her engagement ring during the interview, adding with a smile that Morando “did good” with his choice.
A Love Story Born from a Blind Date
Cyrus and Morando have been together for four years after first meeting through mutual friends. In a 2023 British Vogue interview, the Grammy-winning artist revealed that the pair had initially been “put on a blind date.”
