Kim Kardashian Explains Why She’s Not Interested in Dating After Kanye West Divorce
Nearly five years after her high-profile split from Kanye West, reality star and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian says dating is the last thing on her mind. On the latest episode of The Kardashians, the Skims founder opened up about why she’s content being single and how her outlook on relationships has changed since her divorce.
Kim Kardashian Says She’s “Too Comfortable” Being Single
During a candid confessional in Thursday’s episode, the 45-year-old admitted that the idea of dating again doesn’t appeal to her right now.
“You get really comfortable the longer you’re single,” Kardashian shared. “The thought of sharing a bed or your TV shows with someone else becomes less and less appealing because you get set in your ways.”
The star, who finalized her divorce from West in 2022 after seven years of marriage, explained that she’s learned to enjoy her independence. Though she once described herself as a “hopeless romantic,” Kardashian said she’s now focused on her personal happiness and career goals rather than searching for love.
Sarah Paulson Encourages Kim to “Open Up” Again
In the episode, Kardashian had a heart-to-heart conversation with her All’s Fair co-star Sarah Paulson, who encouraged her to embrace the possibility of love again.
“Think about how much you’ve had to hold everything together for your kids,” Paulson told her, referencing Kardashian’s four children — North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5. “I just want whatever the great romance of your life is to be able to bloom.”
While Kardashian appreciated Paulson’s encouragement, she admitted that she’s still not ready to open up completely.
“I know Sarah feels like I’ve put up this wall to overprotect myself, but it’s OK to close down a bit and focus on the things that I want in life,” she explained.
Not Ruling Out Love Entirely
Despite her current disinterest in dating, Kardashian made it clear that she hasn’t sworn off love altogether.
“When the right person comes along, I’ll be so ready and everything will be fine,” she said.
For now, she’s embracing singlehood and prioritizing her four children and growing business empire.
Reflecting on Her Divorce from Kanye West

Kardashian filed for divorce from Kanye West in February 2021, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Their marriage, which began in 2014, came to an end after what she has since described as a “toxic” period.
During a previous interview, she revealed the final straw that ended the relationship — saying she “didn’t feel safe emotionally or financially.”
Since their split, West married designer Bianca Censori in 2022. Kardashian, meanwhile, has taken a slower, more cautious approach to dating.
Her Relationship Timeline Since the Divorce
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum has only been publicly linked to a few partners since her separation from West.
- Pete Davidson (2021–2022): Kardashian dated the Saturday Night Live comedian for nine months after meeting on set during her SNL hosting gig. The couple broke up amicably in August 2022. A source told Page Six at the time that “Kim and Pete decided to just be friends,” citing long-distance and busy schedules as key factors.
- Odell Beckham Jr. (2024): The two were spotted together several times early last year, but sources said their chemistry “fizzled out” quickly.
- Real Estate Investor (Late 2024): In December, Page Six reported that Kardashian had been casually dating a businessman “not in the public eye.” The insider said she met him through mutual friends, but their connection was short-lived.
Since then, Kardashian has remained focused on her family, law studies, and expanding her multiple business ventures, including Skims, SKKN by Kim, and her private equity firm SKKY Partners.
Kim Finds Strength in Solitude
Though fans have often speculated about who Kardashian might date next, the reality star has emphasized that her priority is peace and personal growth.
“It’s OK to close down a bit and focus on the things I want in life,” she reiterated on the show.
While her love life remains quiet, Kardashian continues to balance motherhood, entrepreneurship, and activism — showing that she’s thriving on her own terms.
