50 Cent’s Streams Jump 30% Following Release of Netflix’s Diddy Documentary
Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is seeing a major resurgence in music streaming following the release of the Netflix docuseries “Sean Combs: The Reckoning,” which premiered on December 2 and quickly climbed the platform’s most-watched lists. New data from Luminate shows a significant spike in listener activity for both Jackson and Sean “Diddy” Combs, though Jackson’s numbers far outpace the latter’s.
Streaming Numbers Surge After Docuseries Premiere
According to Luminate, Jackson’s catalog earned 27.9 million U.S. streams between December 5 and December 11, marking a 30% increase from 21.3 million streams the previous week. This jump positions him as one of the biggest weekly movers across major streaming platforms.
The momentum also pushed Jackson up the Spotify U.S. Artists Chart, where he rose 54 spots, moving from No. 199 to No. 145 for the week. Globally, he climbed 26 spots, from No. 136 to No. 110, indicating that renewed interest in his music extends beyond the U.S.
Diddy’s Streams Also Increase, Though on a Smaller Scale

Diddy’s music saw noticeable gains as well, though his catalog streams remain significantly lower than Jackson’s. For the week ending December 11:
- Music released under “Diddy” earned 1 million streams, a 50% increase
- Music released as “P. Diddy” reached 619,000 streams, up 32%
- Music released under “Puff Daddy” hit 764,000 streams, also up 32%
Despite the jumps, Combs does not appear on Spotify’s U.S. or Global Top 200 Artist Charts, which further highlights the scale of Jackson’s streaming advantage.
Docuseries Impact on Public Interest
The spike in streams follows the widespread attention surrounding 50 Cent’s docuseries, which examines Combs’ career and criminal convictions. The series quickly became a Netflix hit, topping the streamer’s charts and sparking widespread online conversation.
Public interest in the documentary appears to have driven listeners back to both artists’ catalogs—Jackson as the creator spotlighting the story, and Combs as the subject of the series.
A Renewed Spotlight on Jackson’s Music Legacy
The streaming boost adds another layer to Jackson’s lasting cultural influence. Known for hits like “In da Club,” “Candy Shop,” and “Many Men,” his catalog has proven durable across generations, and moments of viral attention—such as the release of the docuseries—continue to propel his music back into the mainstream.
As the documentary remains among Netflix’s top-performing titles, Jackson’s streaming numbers may continue rising in the coming weeks.
