Why Did Yachiru Disappear in Bleach?

0

The Shinigami Women’s Association president and Kenpachi’s lieutenant were the two most well-known roles for the diminutive and immensely likeable Yachiru Kusajihi. She was a young child who adored Kenpachi and was always there to support or encourage him.

She was among the few characters in Bleach who truly grasped the complexity of Kenpachi’s character. Yachiru is also one of the most significant characters in the series, particularly in relation to Kenpachi’s plot, even though most people only know her as a comic relief.

You will learn what happened to Yachiru and whether she will return to Bleach in this piece, which will focus on her personal biography rather than her relationship with Kenpachi.

The destiny of Yachiru Kusajishi in the Bleach series will be the main topic of the remainder of this article.

We have chosen to write this article because Yachiru Kusajishi was a very fascinating and beloved character in Bleach mythos, and it only makes sense that the fans would want to know what happened to her. Be careful when reading this article because it contains some Bleach manga spoilers.

What Happened to Yachiru?

Yachiru Kusajishi disappeared when Kenpachi was eventually able to use his Bankai, proving that she was merely a manifestation of his Zanpakuto and not genuine, however there are still some story holes surrounding this.

However, it was indicated that she merely became a part of Kenpachi’s sword by merging with it, thus with the exception of a possible appearance if the manga is continued in the future, we probably won’t be seeing her again.

Yachiru Kusajishi is Among the Most Fascinating Characters in Bleach

Before her unexplained disappearance, Yachiru Kusajishi served as the Lieutenant of the 11th Division of the Gotei 13 under Captain Kenpachi Zaraki. Yachiru’s size, activity level, and generally carefree demeanor all demonstrate how youthful she is.

She primarily grips the left shoulder of Captain Zaraki Kenpachi. But when she’s angry, she can also be surprisingly terrifying. She lacks a sense of direction, just like Kenpachi, but since Kenpachi depends on her instructions, it is never easy for them to reach their objective on their own.

Yachiru is typically remembered among bleach fans as a comic relief. She served as a fitting counterpoint to Division 11’s other members, who were notoriously vicious brutes, and Kenpachi, who has been shown as a monstrous warrior from the start.

As a result, it was a welcome change to see the diminutive, adorable Yachiru follow Kenpachi around while he listened to her as though she were in command (in fact, the entire Division listened to her; at times, it seemed as though she was the Captain and Kenpachi the Lieutenant, and not vice versa).

Yachiru swiftly gained popularity among fans. She gained even more popularity among series viewers when she participated in events organized by the Shinigami Women’s Association.

Yet, despite her popularity as a character, Yachiru was never a flat figure without a backstory or a mission. Her past appeared to be somewhat unsettling, and her total significance in the narrative turned out to be far greater than anyone had actually expected.

Why Did Yachiru Disappear

Going back to her past, we learn later in the narrative that Kenpachi first encountered Yachiru when he was a small boy, during one of his murderous rampages. A tiny Yachiru suddenly materialized in front of him as he was taking a blade from one of the persons he had killed.

Yachiru approached him inquisitively despite the fact that he was bloodied and had just been in a vicious battle.

She kept his name a secret when she was a baby, so Kenpachi did something he had never done before: he took her with him and gave her the name Yachiru, after the only woman he had ever idolized, the ex-criminal Yachiru Unohana, who changed her name to Retsu Unohana when she joined the Gotei 13.

Yachiru and Kenpachi become closer as the narrative progresses, and by the time we finally meet them, they are essentially inseparable. She follows “Kenny-chan,” as she calls him, wherever he goes.

She appears to be the only individual in the series who genuinely comprehends Kenpachi’s emotions and inner conflicts, which is crucial to comprehending her function in the narrative. She witnesses every single one of his bouts.

Furthermore, although Kubo had been implying Yachiru’s unique function for some time, it wasn’t until the Quincy Blood War that it was finally disclosed—albeit not in the most obvious manner.

Specifically, we know that at one point in the story, Kenpachi was able to activate both his Shikai and his Bankai, and that he ultimately learned the name of his blade during the Quincy Blood War.

Furthermore, although Yachiru was still there when Kenpachi used his Shikai, he vanished entirely and irrevocably the instant he used his Bankai. In reality, this is what took place.

Will Yachiru Ever Be Found by Kenpachi Again?

Why Did Yachiru Disappear

Since Kenpachi hadn’t yet activated his Shikai, Yachiru Kusajishi was still alive when he vanquished Unohana. However, when Gremmy summoned a huge meteor during their battle, Kenpachi used his Shikai for the first time, and Yachiru was nearby to watch. After the conflict ended, she vanished, albeit we were not around to see her fate at the time.

Concerned, Kenpachi asked his teammates if they had seen Yachiru. They said they hadn’t, assuming she had gone off somewhere, as she frequently did. However, Kenpachi had a reason for being concerned—it was almost instinctive—and he gave them the irate command to go find her. They won’t find her, of course.

Because no one could locate Yachiru, Kenpachi was left without her for the rest of the second invasion. Her badge and her outfit were all that remained of her. However, this was not Yachiru’s final appearance.

Specifically, Wahrwelt, which was Yhwach’s conversion of the Soul King’s Palace into a Quincy fortress, was eventually breached by the Shinigami.

Mayuri was there with Kenpachi, but not Yachiru. Kenpachi nearly perished when they battled Pernida Parnkgjas, but Mayuri Kurosuchi saved and cured him after the latter vanquished the Sternritter “C” – “The Compulsory” – thanks to Nemu’s sacrifice:

Later, as a group of his supporters engaged Gerard Valkyrie, the Sternritter “M” – “The Miracle” – in combat, Kenpachi reappeared. With Nozarashi active, Kenpachi instantly removed his eyepatch and charged Gerard, but it was insufficient because Gerard’s power enabled him to blast Kenpachi like a fly.

He was dejected until Yachiiru suddenly materialized in front of him wearing her outfit. She explained that she was there to give him the power he still required—the power of his Bankai—so that Kenpachi could activate it. Kenpachi was perplexed and asked her why she was there. Yachiru Kusajishi vanished for the last time at this point, and we didn’t see her much after that.

Another layer to the overall mystery surrounding Yachiru’s true character and her overall part in Kenpachi Zaraki’s journey and maturation was the fact that her fate was left a mystery back in the original manga series.

There are just two options, and she wasn’t classified as dead. For years, the idea that she fled was a realistic one, but Kubo himself seemed to deny it.

Specifically, in an interview with the fans, Kubo disclosed that Yachiru is bound to Nozarashi, Kenpachi’s blade. Yachiru appears to have been the embodiment of Zanpakuto, the Spirit of Kenpachi. She vanished when Kenpachi completely engaged his Bankai, as she once more fused with the sword. As far as we know, the second theory is true, which is why she vanished.

This indicates that although it is extremely unlikely that we will see Yachiru in the series again, it is not entirely impossible because a cameo that fully explains her tale and validates what happened to her is still feasible.
