The show is based on Eric Manheimer’s book “Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital.”

Max, played by Ryan Eggold, is the main character of New Amsterdam. He is the new medical director of the hospital, which was a public hospital that had been neglected.

Helen wanted to get in touch with Max, so she sent him a text message asking him to meet up with her so they could talk about what had happened. But it seemed like Max chose Wilder instead.

Later, the show’s executive producer said that they had wanted Agyeman to come back for the last episode of the long-running show, but it wasn’t possible because their schedules clashed.
