All other storylines were thrown to the side as Sullivan’s Crossing Season 2 finished on a life-or-death note, yet we still remember them. So, who exactly is Maggie’s baby’s father?
Once again, Robyn Carr has succeeded. Following Netflix’s adaptation of her popular book series Virgin River, CTV has taken on the challenge of adapting her second novel series, Sullivan’s Crossing.
It’s safe to conclude that after two seasons, the new TV series has an extremely high level of drama. A large fire has broken out at the town’s cafe in the Sullivan’s Crossing Season 2 finale, and Sully may have been left for dead. Maggie’s personal life has been completely upended as she reconsiders returning to the city.
However, there is a crucial point that must be addressed first: who is Maggie’s baby’s father? This is all the information Sullivan’s Crossing fans require.
Who is Maggie’s Baby’s Father?
We don’t have a definitive answer in the television series Sullivan’s Crossing. But Cal or Andrew are the two possibilities.
It’s important to note that this pregnancy is distinct from the one Maggie miscarried before we discuss our candidates. Maggie moves to the small, quiet village in Season 1 of Sullivan’s Crossing because she is struggling with the agony of her miscarriage and life in the big city.
Maggie becomes closer to Cal, a man who came to Sullivan’s Crossing to move on from his late wife, as she spends more time there. The two never really start dating, at least not yet, as he establishes a life for himself while Maggie gets settled.
Cal could very well be the father of Maggie’s child because of the extensive flirtation and obvious haystucks.
Of reality, Andrew is as much of a potential baby daddy as Cal, especially since they were in a serious relationship. The issue is that the TV adaptation hasn’t identified it yet.
This does make sense in light of what happened in the Season 2 finale, which we’ll discuss later. Just like Charmaine’s baby daddy wasn’t disclosed until Season 5 of Virgin River, the father reveal is probably being set up for Sullivan’s Crossing Season 3.
Does the Father’s Identity Reveal in the Books?
Maggie and Cal had a child, according to Robyn Carr’s original book series. In addition to this, we also know who it is—a daughter named Elizabeth. The TV series actually deviates greatly from the events in the novel, as fans of the original book series will be aware.
Rather than accompanying her on her path to freedom and singledom, Maggie and Cal quickly become husband and wife by the end of the first novel.
Although the book series only consists of five volumes, as opposed to Virgin River’s twenty-two and counting, Cal and Maggie remain together throughout the entire series, eventually giving birth to Elizabeth.
There is every reason to believe that Sullivan’s Crossing Season 3 will do the same, albeit with a time delay to concentrate on other storylines, since this does occur in the books. But as of this writing, nothing has been verified.
Is Maggie in a Relationship?
In a technical sense, no. Although Maggie’s interests have changed after she formally ended her relationship with her ex-boyfriend Andrew, romance has continued with her intermittent partner Cal.
Maggie’s heart told her she had to stay at Sullivan’s Crossing, thus she formally ended her relationship with Andrew in the last episodes of Season 2. Andrew leaves her, refusing to make any concessions, and remains in the large metropolis.
This does not imply, however, that Maggie and Cal will immediately resume their romance. Following the disclosure of additional information about Cal’s past, which resulted in a miscommunication regarding his wife, the two are still at odds.
They were back on track when Cal had a chance to adequately explain to Maggie, but they were still a long way from rekindling their once-fervent desire.
Will Maggie Remain in Sullivan’s Crossing?
Maggie still hasn’t fully made up her decision as of the Sullivan’s Crossing Season 2 finale. However, there are solid reasons to think she will stay. She now has to deal with the drama of whether her father, Sully, is still alive in addition to her personal desires.
Maggie did express to Andrew her desire to remain in the area, but that does not imply that she is entirely in agreement with her own choices. What she does next will be greatly influenced by her pregnancy, which may also cause her to reevaluate her relationship with Cal.
Furthermore, what happens to Sully during the diner fire has become Maggie’s top priority. Although he has been hauled out, it is still uncertain if he will survive.
Maggie could be hesitant to remain in the location that so strongly evokes her father’s memory if the worst happens and he passes away. If he lives, it’s possible that he will require direct care during his recuperation, which his daughter will undoubtedly be responsible for.
What will she decide, though? The answer won’t be known until Sullivan’s Crossing Season 3.
