Just recently, the first season of Celebrity Jeopardy came to an end. It was a lot of work, and we were all for it. After all, the Saturday Night Live story about the popular people-only edition of the game show has been around for a long time and has grown, making it one of the show’s most-watched regular bits.
But the actual hour-long show stood out as a worthy addition to the well-known and loved Jeopardy! series. Its 13-episode season came to an end on Thursday, February 2nd.
So let’s learn a little bit about the show.
This special primetime edition of Jeopardy! was hosted by another famous nerd, Mayim Bialik, and it was set up differently than a normal half-hour match.
Every episode of the show has three famous people competing in each round. As the contestants fought to get to the final and win the million-dollar grand prize for a charity of their choice, they also had to deal with each other.
During the season, there were six preliminary rounds, which led to three semifinals and then to the final.
After beating Patton Oswalt and Wil Wheaton in the season finale, actor Ike Barinholtz was named the show’s first champion.
