Who is Hazel’s Dad in Virgin River? A Look at Her Family Connections
The story of Netflix’s multi-season drama series “Virgin River” begins with Mel Monroe’s transformative transfer to the charming town of the same name, where she quickly makes a home among her loved ones.
Nonetheless, a number of other characters also gain attention as the story centers on the community’s many inhabitants, such as Jack Sheridan, the neighborhood bar owner, who gives Mel a second chance at love.
As a result, Dan Brady, Jack’s close friend and the local bad boy who frequently gets into legal issues, also plays a significant role.
Brady undergoes a lot of changes in Season 5, although he still interacts with shady folks. His connection with Jack’s sister Brie consequently deteriorates, perhaps signaling the end of their romance.
However, there is no lack of affection in the community, and the man quickly meets Lark, a sympathetic single mother. Even if Brady’s life is improved by the Lark and her daughter Hazel, one can’t help but wonder who the young girl’s enigmatic father is and what that might entail for Brady and the others. BEWARE OF SPOILERS!
The Surprising Reveal of Hazel’s Dad
Although the season’s first shocking parental announcement centers on Charmaine’s pregnancy, the story also reveals Hazel’s erratic parentage, giving the fans yet another shocking revelation. The narratives of Lark and Hazel, who were introduced in this season, mostly revolve around Brady, who eventually marries the woman and plays a significant role in her daughter’s life.
The love between Brady and Lark appears natural and impromptu, having its beginnings in the midst of a real wildfire. Therefore, when he first starts dating the woman, the former has no cause to suspect anything sinister up her sleeve.
But Christmastime brings with it a shocking discovery. It turns out that Hazel’s father is actually Calvin’s right-hand man, Jimmy, a well-known crook.
Jimmy’s relationship with the town and its citizens is difficult. Jimmy is an important part of Calvin’s gang, but the other people in town don’t really like or trust him. In actuality, Mel and Jack’s initial perception of the man—that he holds them captive in order to tend to his boss’s deteriorating health—remains incredibly terrible.
Additionally, he never had a great relationship with Brady.
Brady joined Calvin’s gang during a dark period in his life and began going to illegal establishments near his marijuana field. Brady was able to turn Jimmy against Calvin, who admired the other man for his strong relationship with the criminal boss.
For many years, Jimmy was Calvin’s most dependable and devoted companion. However, Brady’s entry into the gang posed a threat to Jimmy’s prosperity.
Jimmy already has a grievance against Brady as a result. But there isn’t much the man can do to hurt his rival because he is incarcerated right now. Brady believes so. Even though Jimmy is no longer in Brady’s life, he has managed to use Lark and his daughter Hazel to plan against him.
It’s unclear why Jimmy put Lark in Brady’s life, but it can’t really signify anything positive for the other man. Furthermore, their potential reunion raises the possibility of an unsettling conclusion given that Calvin might be back in the picture now that he is not need to pretend to be dead.
Similarly, Lark’s character and motivations are called into doubt by the corrupt man’s relationship with Hazel.
Thus far, Lark had been a likeable figure who complimented Brady with ease. The two bonded and found an understanding that Brady had not found in his past relationships because of their contrasting terrible upbringings.
Lark’s connection to Jimmy, however, will only make Brady (and the audience) doubt anything she has told him in an attempt to gain his trust. However, it’s also possible that Jimmy is use Lark against her will as a pawn.
For those who have come to admire Lark’s personality and her relationship with Brady, it will undoubtedly turn out to be a kinder option, even though the same seems improbable given Lark’s lack of animosity toward the other man during their private phone chat.
In the end, Brady would find out about Hazel and, later, Lark’s relationship to Jimmy will be a highly problematic revelation in the upcoming season.
