When will you receive IRS Tax Refunds?

The common question being asked by several people in the United States these days would be the issue date of tax refunds by the IRS. Let’s find out the entire procedure of direct deposits in this article. Generally, IRS will send nine out of 10 refunds to taxpayers in less than three weeks. However, the 21-day delivery of tax returns is not applicable in some cases. The delay is due to the way you filed your tax return and the date you have filed it. IRS uses several ways of sending out tax refunds. The most popular way is via a direct deposit to your bank account. This is regarded as the quickest and easiest process. Another way of receiving your tax refund is via paper check in the post. You can also receive the refund via a debit card holding the value of the tax refund. You can also purchase up to $5,000 in US Savings Bonds or split your refund among a maximum of three financial accounts in your name. These accounts include the IRA, Roth IRA or SEP-IRA.

e-file process

If you have filed through the process of e-file with direct deposit, you can expect the tax refund within one to three weeks. On the other hand, if you have chosen the direct deposit and a paper file, you can expect the refund within three weeks. However, irrespective of the way you have filed, if you are waiting for a refund check in the mail, it will take six to eight weeks for the refund.
