What’s New in Spider-Man 2’s New Game Plus Mode?

What’s New in Spider-Man 2’s New Game Plus Mode?

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is definitely better than its predecessors, which were already very well received. It has a bigger map and new ways to play. But when it first came out, it didn’t have New Game Plus, which was a tool that those games had.

These days, narrative-driven games often come with New Game Plus, which lets players go back and read the story again after finishing the game without having to start over.

New Game Plus was added to Marvel’s Spider-Man after it came out in an update with the harder Ultimate level. However, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which came out in 2020, already had the feature.

New Game Plus was also used in the second game to let you unlock new skills that made the experience more fun when you played it again. It also had a tool called “Mission Replay” that let people go back to a certain part of the game.

Spider-Man 2 Will Receive a New Game Plus

Some people were surprised that these features weren’t in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 when it came out almost three years after Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

James Stevenson, Community Director at Insomniac Games, answered a fan’s question about New Game Plus and Mission Replay on X by saying that the company is working on an update that will add them after the game comes out.

Stevenson also told them an estimated time frame for when they would get this information. People who have already finished the game won’t have to wait long, though, because Stevenson said it would be out before the end of the year.

What Should I Do After Finishing Spider-Man 2’s Story?

Both Spider-Men in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: Peter in his blue and red suit and Miles in his black and red suit. They are swinging through New York in the air.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Spider-Man are about the same length. About 18 hours are needed to finish the main story, and 30 hours are needed to get the Platinum prize. There may or may not be a lot to do after the credits roll, depending on whether players do the side missions as they become available or wait until the story is over.

Many of these goals, like Hunter bases and Symbiote nests, can’t be returned like enemy bases could in previous games if players finished these tasks as they came up. That’s it! The only things left are the Mysterium challenges (which can be played again and again to beat past scores) and the randomly generated city events.

Spider-Man 2’s Hardest Mode is Unlocked After Beating It

Peter Parker and Miles Morales are two Spider-Men who are stuck to a wall. Peter’s mask is off, and he looks very upset. Miles has a white container of some kind on his back.

You can play Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on the hardest difficulty, Ultimate, after finishing the game on any level. When you play in Ultimate mode, you have to start a new game from scratch. This is different from New Game Plus mode, which lets you keep your suits, skills, tools, and other unlockable.

While this is a fun task, some people might not be as interested in starting from the very beginning to try it. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 lets players save games more than once, so if they decide Ultimate is too hard, they can go back to their full game save and explore the city with all of their unlockables still there.

Good news, though, is that players shouldn’t have to wait too long longer for New Game Plus and Mission Select to be added. The story of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been praised for mixing big, action-packed scenes with heartfelt, more character-driven ones.

Since many players have already finished the game, it’s easy to see why they want to play it again as soon as possible.
