Deadline said that Marvel Studios renewed What If…? for a third season early, even before the second season started on Disney+ in July 2022. Seasons 1 and 2 of What If…? each have nine episodes, but they were supposed to have ten.
It’s not clear how many episodes will be in season 3. The tenth episode of season 1, in which Tony Stark crashes on Sakaar, was moved to season 2 because of delays in production caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
