Monday, May 30, at 1:30 a.m., Holloway’s friends last saw her leaving the bar and nightclub Carlos’n Charlie’s in Oranjestad.

She left in a car with 17-year-old Dutch honors student Joran van der Sloot, who lived in Aruba and went to the International School of Aruba, and his two Surinamese friends, Deepak Kalpoe, 21, and Satish Kalpoe, 18.

Holloway was meant to fly back home later that day, but she did not show up for her flight. At the Holiday Inn, her packed bags and passport were found in her room.

Even though Aruban officials looked all over the island and the waters around it for Holloway, he was not found.
