Who is Domantas Sabonis?
Domantas Sabonis is a professional basketball player from Lithuania and the United States. He plays for the Sacramento Kings in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and for the Lithuanian national team. His father, Arvydas Sabonis, was playing for the Portland Trail Blazers when he was born on May 3, 1996, in Portland, Oregon.
Sabonis started his professional basketball journey in Spain with Unicaja Málaga. He then moved to the U.S. to play college basketball for the Gonzaga Bulldogs. He was taken by the Orlando Magic with the 11th pick in the 2016 NBA draft, but he moved to the Oklahoma City Thunder right away.
After his first season with the Thunder, in 2017 he was moved to the Indiana Pacers, where he played for five years and was named to two NBA All-Star teams. Sabonis was moved to the Sacramento Kings in 2022 for the talented young player Tyrese Haliburton. This was a big surprise.

With just over five minutes left in the second quarter, Sabonis and Looney were fighting for a jump ball when Looney’s elbow hit Sabonis in the left eye. Sabonis lay on the floor with his face down for a while while his face swelled and he used a towel to wipe away blood.
