Yaminabe is selected as the activity for the upcoming week’s class recreation. Lum attempts to feed Ataru a special type of food he has created for him.
Ataru attempts to avoid it, but eventually consumes one of the balls, causing his mouth to burn from the spice. He asks Lum about the dish she dislikes at night, and she replies that it is the vegetable Chomchomp.
He discovers that Lum is sensitive to garlic one day. He consumes a large amount of garlic in an attempt to aggravate Lum with the odor, but his strategy fails. On the day of Yaminabe, everyone contributes whatever they own to a communal pot.
Moreover, Ten brings Chompchomp and adds it to the pot. Ataru ultimately obtains the Chompchomp, which is actually a gigantic human-eating plant, while everyone else faints due to Lum’s food.
